Despite their victory in the huge fight over amnesty for illegal immigrants in 2007, conservatives cant rest easy: its all about to happen all over again.
The Democrats (and RINO Republicans) push for comprehensive immigration reform has returned and will be a major issue this year, and perhaps next year as well if the pro-amnesty groups dont get their way.
Whether Barack Obama wants to risk another public backlash over such a comprehensive effort early in his first term -- knowing that polls indicate the large majority of Americans oppose illegal immigration -- is a big question mark. But we do know that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, (D-Nev) said just two Sundays ago on Meet the Press that John McCain had promised him to work real, real hard on immigration reform, and Ill work with him.

We’ll probably have to stop amnesty a lot more than twice.

You should contact a physician. Your little boner for McCain is contrary to good mental health.

Just more “compassionate conservatism” coming our way — in the form of just another arm of the Socialist Obama voter army.

McCain is the ultimate open borders champion. Heck, he even gave us a Kenyan President.

Around election time, Reid said that immigration reform HAD to be done within the first 30 days or it would get pushed aside by other more pressing issues.
Of course, both candidate McCain and candidate Obama promised La Raza that they, as president, would put immigration reform up front.
President-elect Obama, via his spokespeople, has more recently hedged on that commitment.
Hopefully, Obama has sense enough to know the mood of the American people and, like his predecessor, will wait until his second term before trying to push such an unpopular issue through.

With the economy in shambles and with rapidly rising unemployment...well, my guess is they will face a much louder and vocal opposition than they did even last time. Of course, enough (stupid) Republicans will go along with it so any chance to differentiate the parties on this issue will not be forthcoming.

“Your little boner for McCain is contrary to good mental health.”
LMAO....In case you haven’t noticed Jacquerie, you’re far outnumbered by the opposition and so, mental health aside, I’m inclined to question who it is that really has the boner for McCain.

Pubbie leadership and Congresspersons are so afraid of being accused of being racist if they criticize Obama, they are bending over backward to give him anything he wants.
It was bad enough to watch the Pubbies fold on so many issues during the last 8 years. It is only going to be worse for the foreseeable future.
That race card is still one of the most powerful instruments. It caused candidate Clinton cower and candidate McCain to cringe and Majority Leader Reid to reverse himself. We will see it used allot during the coming months.

Until the people of this country get real about holding our elected officials accountable to do our will, they will eventually get their way on this issue. It's become the bad penny syndrome. I suggest we get ready to heat the tar and start sacking up the feathers, we'll need em.

You should contact a physician. Your littleboner for McCain is contrary to good mental health. Listen you. Rabscuttle385 was the canary in the coal mine while the rest of us were going ga-ga over Palin, and by default McCain. I too was one of the FReepers criticizing him and now I'm eating a sack full of crow about it.
