Bush just tried to get you a good deal on immigration when he could, and you are to stupid to know it. Their were never enough votes to override a Dem veto!! NEVER!! There was never going to be a harsh illegal immigration bill.
Now you have Obama!!! See what he and Pelosi do with immigration and there aren't even enough Republicans with RINOS to stop it.

"I'm very worried about the message that said, 'Republicans are anti-immigrant.'" He should be worried about our nation being overrun with diseased, lawbreaking, freeloading ingrates, the majority of whom have no intention of assimilating.

Ya know if he put as much energy into cutting spending, countering the ‘Rat lies, and marginalizing Juan McAmnesty, as he did immigration, he be a leader. Alas, he's barely better than any ‘Rat. Probably the high mark of the GOP for the next several years. Pathetic and wasted many years of political capital.

President was right, the market should decide how many Mexicans come to pick our crops. Amazingly enough, millions have gone home w/the downturn.
Build the wall. How big a gummit agency should we build to round up Mexicans and shovel them back across the Rio Grande? How long will they stay there? 24 hrs? How would a Governor of TX ever know anything about immigration?
Let the name calling begin. Anybody notice how the immigration brigade will never discuss and only yell and name call?

I don't think he is an idiot, willfully blind would be more accurate.
I think we need immigration reform, however I was unimpressed with Bush's amnesty plan. Bush compounded the error of having a poor plan with an even worse sales job. I am quite certain I am not the only one to whom the line of “jobs Americans won't do” came across as condescending and racist.
I believe Bush could have gotten immigration reform passed, if he had been willing to compromise with his critics (minutemen et al) and had someone talk to regular Americans to find out what rhetoric would actually sell it.

NO WE'RE NOT!
We are anti-ILLEGAL immigrant.
We welcome, respect and admire those who came here legally.
