President George W. Bush will give a farewell address to the nation Thursday night, billed by the administration as a chance to reflect on his tenure and welcome Barack Obama without fighting old battles one last time.
Bush will deliver the speech, expected to run 10 to 15 minutes, from the ornate East Room of the White House. He will have a small audience of people in the room, chosen for their stories of personal courage.
White House press secretary Dana Perino said Monday that Bush will "uphold the tradition of presidents using farewell addresses to look forward ....
*snip*
Perino said the speech will be the last scheduled public event for Bush as president until he appears on the North Portico to greet Obama on Inauguration Day, which is Jan. 20.

To the Admin. Moderator,
Ok, I’m sorry for my comments, if they insulted anyone. But this person is very vulgar, and out of line. I wanted to let them know that and stand up for myself. If I got out of line in doing that, I apologize, sincerely.

Knock it off now or you both will be suspended. Thanks,

No problem AM. Some people need to grow a hide and remember what Finley Peter Dunne said, i.e., "politics ain't beanbag."

George W reminds me of the month of March.
In like a lion and out like a lamb.
He did great on his watch. May not agree with some of the decisions he made in the past year but he did keep us safe.
I wish him and his all the best.

Thanks President Bush. You have provided us with the greatest 8 years any President could have. You are blessed with integrity, compassion, humor, wit and wisdom, class, intelligence, and above all a love for your country.
Thanks for the unwavering faith that you have especially after our country was attacked. You pushed the extreme on every aspect of your presidency. I will miss you and will always wish that you could have been President forever. God Bless you and keep you always,

I'm sure the usual people will be here to tell me how stupid and RINOish I am. I don't particularly care. They'd better not!

What in the world has gotten into you?
I've never seen this side of you...the vulgarity...the log on your shoulder.
Correct me if I'm wrong. I thought you made a promise last night that you would not be a cockroach on this thread.
When the OP specifically asked this not to be a basher thread, you hadn't even posted yet...IIRC. Or it was a moment either way.
But it's your demeanor that has bummed me out. You're posting like a mean drunk.
Please? Be nice.

What vulgar insults?
Get a clue Miss Marple, if posters want to mix it up with me, they’re going to get back at least as good as they dish it out. You got a problem with that?
By all means, play the dreadfully offended school marm and report me to the mods.

DCP, I have done nothing more than post proportional (and in my opinion, appropriate) responses in this thread. In fact, the only poster ('dsutah') that has been going absolutely berserk in this thread today is pretty much the only one I've been responding to up until Miss Marple and her yardstick showed up just a few minutes ago. Now if my brief and colorful responses to dsutah are considered 'vulgar' by some, well so be it. Go back and read over dsutah's posts, and I think you'll find that the level of vitriol was way off the scale so far as they were concerned, and fortunately for the poster in question I chose to make my responses brief and to the point, because that was all their premature exasperation was worth.
Last night was last night FRiend, and so far as the OP is concerned, I've seen no efforts made to discourage the over the top behavior of the irrational BushBots and Bush-apologists in this thread, so?
Tonight's another night, tomorrow will be another day.
Hope yours was and will be good.
PS - I have deliberately NOT pinged dsutah due to the prior intervention of the AdminMod.

I didn't ping the Mod, as someone else already had. Calling people vulgar names like you did (go back and read your posts) is not acceptable behavior, no matter how angry you get.
This is a forum read by people of all ages and backgrounds. I am asking you to keep this in mind as you fashion your posts. That is not an unreasonable request, and I know that you can do it if you make the effort.
Thanks for reading this, and good night.

Note this Miss Marple, that my comments must not have been considered too 'vulgar' by the mods, or else they would have been nuked (this of course, would be your cue to make that request, lol)

I hear liberal Democrats pleading "it's for the CHILDREN!"

You might try directing some of that wisdom at 'other' posters (hmmm, maybe one from Utah I'm thinking of right now? lol) who are every bit as obnoxious as you believe me to be. Of course the poster in question is a fellow Bush apologist, so it would seem they are immune, oui'?
Good night Miss Marple, one last question:
Do you consider telling someone to "pound sand" to be vulgar?
Get back to me on that.
(Bronxboy? Thought you might enjoy the *ping*)
