CNN correspondent Alina Cho devoted an entire report on Mondays American Morning program to how the Obama presidential run has apparently served as an inspiration for ad campaigns by big corporations. Cho zeroed in on how the Pepsi logo and the Obama campaign logo were strikingly similar, both using swirls of red, white, and blue, despite the fact that Pepsi has used the color scheme since World War II.
Cho introduced her report by heralding how [c]hange is coming to Madison Avenue and explained how Obama might be a model for advertising agencies: Think about it -- Obama is a winning product and he won on the promise of hope. So now companies like Pepsi want to use the same message in their campaigns, but will it work?
The correspondent played a clip from an ad for the soft drink giants new Optimism Project, and asked, Commercial or campaign message? Its all about optimism, with a logo thats all too familiar. Two products of which I shall endeavor to totally ignore from now on.
soda is poison
And what Republican will be daring enough to run as “The Real Thing” in four years???????
I deleted CNN and MSNBC and the major networks on my tv cable. My blood pressure is back to normal. I suggest all do it for the duration.
Nobody could. Everyone is a RINO.
“soda is poison”

Watched the video...still am at peace buying the furniture I selected at IKEA. I think that’s a cool idea.
A soon-to-be-seated President is about to also become a shill for commercial interests.

Nah. No loss of decorum there.
I hate the taste of Pepsi and I don’t shop Ikea.
I can’t believe this Alina Cho thought the Pepsi logo was influenced by Obama, rather than vice-versa.
The electronic media gets more stupid every single day.
Yeah but it tastes good.
Not to mention that they purchased billboards that simply say “HOORAY” and the “O’s” are the Pepsi/Obama logo.
I’ll stick with Coke and Barq’s Root Beer. Good Southern sodas.
My son made this joke up, if not done already.
What are those who mocked other Freepers for pointing out the Pepsi logo’s similarity to the 0, saying now?
