(Ron) Paul holds US liable for Gazans death
PressTV ^

Republican congressman Ron Paul says the US is aiding and abetting Israel in Gaza through its financial and military support for Tel Aviv.

"The weapons being used to kill so many Palestinians are American weapons, and American funds, essentially, are being used for this," said the congressman Friday.

Israel launched an all-out war against the Gaza Strip and its democratically-elected ruler, the Hamas movement, to put an end to rocket attacks against southern Israel.

At least 821 Palestinians have been killed during the operation and some 3,330 others are reported wounded. At least 10 Israeli troops have been killed during the offensive so far.

Hamas demands a cessation to an 18-month Israeli blockade on Gaza before its fighters stop rocket attacks against Israel.

Congressman Paul criticized Washington for its indirect intervention in the affairs of other countries.

"There's a political liability, which I think is something that we fail to look at, because too often there's so much blowback from our intervention in areas that we shouldn't be involved in," he said.

Paul also expressed his opposition to a House resolution that strongly supported Israel in its Gaza invasion. "I rise in opposition to this resolution, not because I am taking sides and picking who the bad guys are and who the good guys are."

"I'm looking at this more from the angle of being a United States citizen, an American, and I think resolutions like this really do us great harm," he added.

Earlier on Friday, House of Representative speaker Nancy Pelosi backed the Israel's military operations on Gaza, saying that "Israel, like any nation, has a right to self-defense when under attack".

"There's a lot of reasons why we should oppose this resolution. It is not in the interests of the United States. It's not in the interests of Israel, either," Paul concluded.

The fighting in Gaza has entered its third week despite a UN Security Council resolution which calls for an immediate end to the hostility in the densely-populated Gaza Strip.

What surprises me the most with regards to Ron Paul is that he was able to get so many supporters. What were those people thinking? Ron Paul is the proverbial head-in-the sand nutcase.

Ron Paul would do well to keep his yap shut. Add him to the list of those who are on the side of Hamas. Israel MUST fight until they have achieved absolute victory. They do not have the luxury of spouting off about this from thousands of miles away like we do, and Ron Paul does. The Israelis live with this terrorist stuff day to day, year to year. I for one, want the Israelis to give it all they’ve got, and it’s fine with me if the USA helps them. That policy will abruptly stop Jan.20th when the lily livered Zero takes over. Bombs away for now!

His tin foil wearing crowd will applaud him for this. The rest of us normal people see the POS for what he is. An apologist for terrorism. How do his short bus supporting freepers feel?

I blame Ron Paul for the 400 or so murders in Houston. Every year. So there.

Ron Paul is a turd, a malignant growth on the butt of humanity and that is his better points. That many here on FR actually supported this freak for President is a disgrace.

Every time a string of sense comes into this guy’s head, the ever present goofball emerges and lets us know what’s underneath.

Apparently, Ron Paul backs murderers and terrorists.

Good to know that.

Being intellectually consistent is not a positive attribute when he is consistently wrong.

Guess we should have just let Hitler and Tojo have their way.

Too many of Rue’s followers are holocaust deniers, jew haters, and foaming “truthers”.

While he tries to distance himself from them, he should ask himself what it is he is saying that attracts that kind of people.

There are some who honestly think he is(was) the only true Conservative and with the field we had, I can see going for the one who talked up the right words. I think a majority where the typical 5% or so who always go with the outsider, be it third party, or perceived alternative.

L Ron Paul and his friends, Chuck Baldwin and Bob Barr cover the spectrum of Neo Nazi to Marxist.

They are not Conservative and wonder why his supporters are allowed to continue on FR.

With their third party votes, they have made possible
everyone from Bill Clinton to Al Franken

You’ve been drinking the RP kool-aid to make such a complete and silly statement such as that.

I've had quite enough of Ron Paul's opinions. Why is it that some politicians never retire?

Baloney.

Ron Paul voted against recognizing Chanukka in a resolution claiming “the government has no business legitimizing a religion” . . . . . then later voted to recognize Ramadan.

Ron Paul is always “principled” to screw Jews and Israel, in particular.

He can go to Hell. Soon, preferably.

Does the Disney management know their character is working for the Palisimians for free?

Ron Paul makes it clear that he is against the referendum because he is being intellectually consistent in being against all foreign entanglements even if they involve Israel.

Too bad for him there is that pesky little thing called the Constitution that says that all treaties are to be considered the high law of the land and we have a mutual defense treaty with Israel.
