Former GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney is slated to offer House Republicans his policy prescriptions for the ailing economy at a hearing next week to discuss the pending stimulus package.
The former Massachusetts governor is scheduled to appear at a hearing next Thursday organized by party Whip Eric Cantor (Va.), where Republicans will outline their policy proposals for a massive economic stimulus bill that could exceed $800 billion.
"Last week, President elect-Obama challenged the House Republicans to help him craft a stimulus bill. We are embracing this challenge and asking as many people as possible to help us create the ideas we need to cut taxes on middle-class taxpayers and small businesses," Cantor Deputy Chief of Staff Rob Collins said. "Gov. Romney as a businessman and former governor has the knowledge to know what our economy needs to ensure we create real long-lasting jobs and make it easier to raise a family in America."

Stepping up Ping!
Would a real Conservative please stand up.
Willard tries to stay relevant. Buenos Suerte.
Keep your Socialism to yourself, Mitt.
I don’t really want to hear from 2012-ers unless they’re bashing Obama. If they’re being conciliatory or trying to work together or whatever— thanks but no thanks.
We know what Slick Willard wants.
As a liberal Republican I doubt conservatives will be listening to Myth Romney.
Willard could advise Obama on how best to impliment RomneyCare on a national basis.
Thank you, Mr. Romney! Your experience and expertise is greatly needed at this time.
I agree. I don’t really want a repeat of 2008 either. Frankly, I’d like to see a new set of leaders crop up, ones that have hawked real Conservative values throughout their careers. I don’t want to have to wonder if a guy is really changed, or if he is simply sugar coating what he intends to do, in order to get my vote.
Important PING!
Hang on Romney ... that anchor, the Rinopublican Party, is headed for the bottom of the sea.
We I only hope the chain breaks before it hits the bottom.
To "stimulate" the economy?
It may be that there is something in the current crisis that is new and original, but everything that has happened thus far are things that have happened before with relatively well known solutions.
Mitt Romney is scheduled to appear at a hearing next Thursday organized by party Whip Eric Cantor.
Without changes in the primary system that need to be made now, 2012 will be worse than 2008. Liberal states are still first. There will be no competitive Dim primaries to keep them from crossing over and voting for someone like Romney that will lose to Obambi.
No, not a joke at all for the following reasons:
1. Mr. Romney is the person with the experience and expertise to handle the current environment; and
2. The GOP can’t just say, “No.” They have to come up with a plan of their own.
I am thrilled that the GOP members have asked for his help and advice. I thought I wouldn’t see this after McCain’s loss.
