Bush to GOP: Don't Become 'Anti-Immigrant'
AP ^ | Sunday, January 11, 2009

WASHINGTON – Down to single digits in his days left in office, President George W. Bush is warning the Republican Party not to become "anti-immigrant" as it regroups from defeat and retools its leadership. "It's very important for our party not to narrow its focus, not to become so inward looking that we drive people away from a philosophy that is compassionate and decent," . .

Good comment on this amnesty fiasco as abetted by GWB & the bulk of the Congress. IMO, may be the primary basis for the coming civil war. The whole GWB/Mexican alliance is a mystery to me and everytime Bush reveals what his reasoning on Immigration, WOT, Iran/Korea, I just wish he would GTH out but then I remember that his failures have given us BO and I start to wish him nothing good.
I can’t listen to him anymore, my blood pressure won’t allow it!

Bush is no longer stabbing us in the back. It's now the chest.

This may be the last time I get to post this. Maybe Jorge is afraid that Obama will get credit for his "new America".

THE "NEW AMERICAN"

..........<

We are now one of the largest Spanish-speaking nations in the world. We're a major source of Latin music, journalism and culture.

Just go to Miami, or San Antonio, Los Angeles, Chicago or West New York, New Jersey ... and close your eyes and listen. You could just as easily be in Santo Domingo or Santiago, or San Miguel de Allende.

For years our nation has debated this change -- some have praised it and others have resented it. By nominating me, my party has made a choice to welcome the new America.

Our future cannot be separated from the future of Latin America.

As I speak, we are celebrating the success of democracy in Mexico.

George Bush from a campaign speech in Miami, August 2000.

You can read the speech here.

Here is an excerpt of a good critique of that speech:

In equating our intimate historic bonds to our mother country and to Canada with our ties to Mexico, W. shows a staggering ignorance of the civilizational facts of life. The reason we are so close to Britain and Canada is that we share with them a common historical culture, language, literature, and legal system, as well as similar standards of behavior, expectations of public officials, and so on. As a Texan, this was the one policy I disagreed most when he was gov. Looks like the latino voting block were “fair weathered” friends to say the least. In retrospect, I bet he regrets that call someday, as they’ve swiped 4 or 5 states.

“The Republican Party is sounding more like the socialist Democrats with each passing day at the expense of Conservatism. We have a one party system that is destroying democracy.”

Agreed.

There will be many reasons for the coming civil war. The Founding Fathers, if they were around today, would have started one years ago; they never would have let things degrade this far.

Bush's stupidest and most condemnable act was to send Rove to racist La Raza to reassure Third World illegal aliens violating our borders that US laws would NOT be enforced to allow aliens to come here for a "better life."

Sap-happy Rove also suggested that, once here, criminals and lawbreakers would become so enamored with democracy, they would forget their corrupt ways and embrace democracy and all it stands for.

Bush/Rove were sucking up to latinos and promising to turn the US into a Third World for their pleasure AT THE SAME TIME illegals were getting 100% mortgages, flipping them back and forth between family members at higher and higher prices, then defaulting and absconding to Mexico with huge pots of money----leaving banks (and US citizens) holding the bag.

They were also establishing several identities with forged documents and stolen SS nos, getting on the US gravy train---and sending billions of US dollars back to Mexico.

They are now lining up for Obama's stimulus freebies, thanks to Rove's creating an "illegals voting bloc" (that elected Obama).

Rove and Bush also made a side deal with Mexico----and now the Mexican government is salivating over getting their hands on more and more US assets.

CALL CONGRESS AND DEMAND THIS BE SET IN MOTION.

FReeper Calpernia postulated the great idea that all politicans be eVerified.

We need to eVerify incumbents and all politicans running for office, their staffs...and their donors.

DHS needs to register all political organizations so that Americans could enter the names of politicians wanting to run for public office. DHS needs to confirm candidates' immigration status and the status of their staff and their donors.

FReeper Calpernia advises us: eVerify does not incur excess expenses. Human Resource Personnel only need enter a FEW LINES of data into the DHS screen. Political parties and organizations should have access and include those print outs of verification when filing with the Secretary of States for ballot access!

===============================================

The immigration status of campaign donors is most important to make sure politicans are not pocketimg money from illegals and Third World governments (palpable threats to US national security).

For example, Sen Menendez (D-NJ) needs a thorough checking out. When he was under fire for using his elected office to get federal money for a facility he profited by renting, Menendez ran off and took cover in the Dominican Republic (visiting his tax-free bank accounts?), giving news interviews in Spanish.

Menendez' continued defense of illegals is most troubling---Menendez acts like a foreign national--not an elected American who swore allegiance to our country.

Sen Menendez, and Cong Frank Pallone (D-NJ) both belong to the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, which also needs to be eVerified.

They take an oath to protect America, but they apparently work for Mexico and Third World governments as evidenced by their votes. Go to numbersusa.com to check this out.

And what philosophy is that, Mr. Pres? Foreign nation building, U.S. border annihilating, big spending, big gov't "compassionate conservativism?" Got news for you: it is neither compassionate nor conservative. ...nor decent.

It’s mind boggling to realize how ignorant Bush is on the issue of immigration, and that’s being charitable. If he truly understands and is playing some sick propaganda campaign, he is one of the biggest assholes to lead this nation we have ever had.

I like my amnesty plan!

Please call them INVADERS and don’t compare them
to people who are legal aliens!
IF you aid and abet CRIMINALS, you are a criminal!

President Bush has been great on most things except
for our border.
He has been great on the war on terrorists.
But on the border he is a gross failure.
He acted fast and correct on the 3,000+ people
murdered at the world trade center.
He ignores the many rapes, murders and robberies
which is larger than the murders and money loss
at the world trade center.
More Americans are abducted on the border of Mexico
than in Iraq!

FINISH building the fence.
It should be made a felony for Criminals who overstay
their visas or just Invade.

I believe we should give amnesty to these poor CRIMINALS
or INVADERS.
This should be a 2 week amnesty to get the heck out of
our Country.
The ones who ignore this amnesty should be buried in a
tent city jail and fined $10,000 or buried elsewhere.

All aiders and abettors of these CRIMINALS or INVADERS
should get 1 year in a tent city jail and a $10,000
fine for each CRIMINAL aided.

Those in government should be the first ones charged.

This administration erroneously believes its own hype because not enough of us call and complain in addition to venting our opinions on this and other forums.

Please write a simple note making one main point about the ongoing invasion of lawbreaking aliens in the subject line (those staff don't read your messages). In addition to mailing my own reps, I send zingers every other day and make my messages priority:

president@whitehouse.gov; vice-president@whitehouse.gov; chairman@GOP.com.
