It was good to see Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn state: "it's little more than an earmark for the trial bar". It was disapointing that Anh Cao [R]-Louisana voted for it.
More about the bills: Paycheck Fairness Act and Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009
At least half the repubs are going to vote for any bills the Dems are gonna put on the agenda.
Simple solution - don't hire women.
Good post newbie. This kind of activity is worth monitoring. Please keep us up to date.
What ever happened to the good old American way: “Don’t like your job? Quit.” “Can’t afford to quit? Then shut up and get back to work.”
Meanwhile our economic house is on fire and these morons are doing their best to make it worse... The endless suing of the wealth and jobs creators until they do neither anymore...
The Demagogues and RINOs are going to go hog-wild with stuff like this and much much more. Our only hope is that they over-reach enough on some high-profile issues that the backlash can begin in 2010.

Guilty until proven innocent. This bill turns two centuries of American jurisprudence on its head. Perhaps some lawyer here can tell me if there is ANY other law on the books which demands the presumption of guilt.
I’ve been expecting this. So far, the press is shamelessly lapping up the “we’re moderates!” message of the incoming administration.
Proposed bills like this make it clear what the actual posture will be.
Based on appointments, I’d say energy and labor especially are in for big trouble (as well as the entire country).
