Thanks for all the great pictures. I am going to miss this family.
Did the navy perhaps speed up the preparations so that this ceremony could take place before President Bush left office?
Kudos to the navy if they did.
Tomorrow I will be mailing a "Thank You" card to President Bush - one of many, no doubt.
God speed, Mr President!

I posted an early, sorta incomplete dose, today because I need to go and watch MyChargers try to win another game on their march to the Super Bowl!
Great photos again. I saved the photo of the President embracing his father
I notice that the credits of all 3 White House photographers show up on these pictures. How nicei that they all got to ride on Air Force One down to Virginia! A kindness by both President Bush and Eric Draper, the head photographer.
There is such a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes as I write, since we will all miss this wonderful, classy family.
God Speed, GW and Laura. We won't soon see the likes of your humble and gracious presence.
Thank you so much for these wonderful pictures & commentary.
I saw a video of the commissioning of the ship yesterday, it was a wonderful ceremony.
I fear for our country without this man as President.
I fear there will be a huge hole in our National Security.
And if there is, I hope the entire Bush family is far enough away from it that they are not harmed in any way.
God Bless both President’s Bush and the entire Bush family.
And thank you, daisyscarlett, for your wonderful work putting this thread together this weekend.
