I have told my daughter, who's in the Navy, that if a national crisis should occur, the police will be the ones shooting at us. Hopefully, our military will be the ones protecting us from the police. Does anyone know if police officers take an oath to protect and defend the Constitution as the military do?

Many sources I read lately is that military commanders have all the proof they need that if Obama issues any order they can legally decline to follow it.

Our military is aware of the legal repercussions of taking orders illegally.

If it came down to either an Obama army or LEOs forcing themselves upon the US the military may be our weapon of defense.

Possi comitotus in reverse would be a bitch Barry.

Don’t count on it. Military is a machine of the State. Believe me, don’t count on it.

They are supposed to. The Constitution requires that they do.

The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.

Article VI, Constitution for the United States

Presidents take that oath too, and we've seen over and over again exactly how valuable that "oath" is....

No, but I've seen police chiefs (as seen on tv) more and more are wearing trendy General stars. That way they can strut and fret around like a real general without having to ever face a determined enemy and actually have gone through serious risk to their lives.

Wannabees.

“Does anyone know if police officers take an oath to protect and defend the Constitution as the military do?”

Answer: Yes, not only police officers but ANY official who works in either an administrative, executive, or judicial (I believe that covers ‘em all doesn’t it?) capacity not only must swear an oath verbally but must sign AND record with the recorder of record in their jurisdiction, ie. Sec of State, County Recorder, etc. that same oath.

Don’t take my word for this or anything you are told by anyone without researching it for yourself so that you can be positive of the real law or reg of your own knowledge.
