Get ready for the in-law in chief.

President-elect Barack Obama's mother-in-law, Marian Robinson, is moving into the White House at least temporarily to join Michelle Obama and the two children, transition officials said Friday.

That's good news not just for late-night comics, but for 10-year-old Malia and 7-year-old Sasha. During the campaign, Robinson retired from her job as a bank executive secretary to help care for her granddaughters.

When will the Kenyan extended family be moving in too, especially at taxpayers expense? Gotta remember obamanation preferred his black Kenyan pappy roots and not his white teenage mamma's roots.

My Gram lived with us until our family needed her
bedroom for my sister. Then we got her an apartment
2 blocks away. Kids need the Grands. She will save
us more that she costs. (unless she gets the same
salary the First Lady is gonna get).

Leave the kids and grandma alone. They will have a nanny or babysitter anyway. Why not grandma? I think it’s one of the few humanizing stories to come out on Obamalamadingdong in a while.

I think this is a good idea. The children are going to need some consistency and their grandmother has been a big part of their lives. If she lived across town the SS would have to escort the girls backa and forth all the time, in addition to school etc. I thnk it will save $$$ in the long run.

I agree and I suspect once a routine is established Grandma will go back to Chicago. I’m not so sure she will want to continue in the fishbowl for an entire 4 years, it means giving up her whole life.

I could be entirely wrong too but I really don’t think it is a big deal either way.
