Ready, Set, March for Life in 2009!

Ready, Set, March for Life in 2009!

In 1973 the Supreme Court case of Roe v. Wade was decided, having the effect of forcing states to allow abortions for any reason. The majority opinion by abortion advocate Supreme Court Justice Harry Blackmun was shocking and constitutionally vague. Later it was found that on the side of "Roe" the lawyers, plaintiff and witnesses had lied extensively to make their case. This was also the situation with "Doe v. Bolton," known as the companion case to Roe v. Wade. The plaintiffs Roe (Norma McCorvey) and Doe (Sandra Cano) in these cases have petitioned the Supreme Court to review them, admitting their own false testimony. Both were turned down.

Roe and Doe have explained that they themselves had been fooled by pro-abortion attorneys seeking to commit legal fraud to advance political agendas. Often the plaintiffs had no knowledge of the bogus evidence lawyers submitted in their names. According to their writings, Norma McCorvey and Sandra Cano are now actively pro-life and are quite angry concerning the Supreme Court hoaxes committed in their names. Perhaps the highest court in the land refused to listen to their testimony because they would be embarrassed for the "integrity" of their court. However, the Supreme Court could do far more to improve their reputation by bringing charges against the hoaxing lawyers of the aforementioned cases after reviewing and invaliding them.

The people of America have long suffered under these erroneous rulings. About 50 million abortions have occurred in America since 1973. Yet strangely, many Americans have not written or called their House and Senate Representatives to complain. Many have not written letters to the editor of their local newspapers decrying abortion. Many have not stood and prayed, protested or counseled entrants outside an abortion clinic. Many have not marched in the annual March for Life. Many have not protested abortion in any way!

In most countries, the government hands down the law to the people and is expected to take care of them. But in the United States of America, the people are the government. And as we live and breathe in freedom here, we have a responsibility to our fellow citizens. Perhaps one person cannot stop abortion alone. Yet by protesting the heinous practice in any legal way, a message is sent that this citizen is not condoning this practice. Such an act has great significance, for as Edmund Burke said: All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. What if we all did…nothing?

Some have been hard at work for decades. In late 1973, grassroots pro-life activists formed the March for Life, which was incorporated as a non-profit, non-partisan, non-sectarian organization in 1974. This was done to annually memorialize the Supreme Court decisions Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton. It is also a good opportunity to yearly petition Congress for redress. A march was held on January 22, 1974 with about 20,000 people marching to the Capital in Washington DC.

There are many pro-life groups from every walk of life in America, from Lutherans For Life to Libertarians, Doctors, Feminists, Students or Pagans For Life (to name a few.) The Catholic Church is very dedicated to the pro-life cause, as are Protestant Christian Churches of most denominations. A basic tenant of Christianity is kindness to children, and so it is only natural that Bible reading church members would oppose abortion in large numbers.

How can some people condone, promote or even celebrate the practice of abortion? I find it hard to believe that anybody would want a helpless baby to be killed, so I can only think that most pro-abortionists have convinced themselves that it is somehow not a baby in that womb, but instead a sort of "mass of tissue." Indeed, many pro-lifers have related stories of how they were once fooled by pernicious pro-abortion propaganda, but now realize they were wrong. Modern sonograms have played a role in helping stubborn skeptics realize just what is going on in the womb.

There are also groups of people who have formerly had or been involved in abortions. They are now speaking out about all the horrible aspects of it and the medical dangers to women as well as the baby. Post-abortion counseling is especially available for women who have had abortions, for it is well-known how spiritual and mental ailments such as low self-esteem and extreme guilt outpace physical problems like a punctured uterus, intense pain or severe infection. Men who have encouraged or forced women to have abortions usually also need counseling.

The time is now approaching for the 36th Annual March for Life. In Washington DC the March will take place on Thursday, January 22nd in 2009 at noon on the Washington Mall and may be the biggest yet. And Marches for Life are also taking place in other cities during various times. Here in Tucson, Arizona the March will start at 9:30 am on Saturday, January 17th in 2009. When and where is the Annual March for Life occurring nearest you? Would you take some time on the internet to search it out? And how about making or getting a flyer from the organizers to give to friends and post on bulletin boards? Is it possible your pastor would include the flyer in the Sunday bulletin of your church? And could you attend and march this year?

Let's not be the good men (and women) who allow evil to triumph by doing nothing. Instead, let's do something! We can write Congress, inform others and participate in the March for Life and other activities. What will we tell our grandchildren when they ask what we did to fight the mass extinction of the unborn now taking place (thanks to some legal fraud of the '70s?) In that future moment, let’s tell them we decided this was the time to stand up for the women and children of America!

The North Central Ohio March for Life will be held on Sun., Jan 25, at 3 PM in downtown Mansfield, Ohio.

Here's a pic of our 100% PRO-LIFE Congressman, Jim Jordan, speaking at last year's March.

My wonderful husband is taking me to Washington for our first National Rally on January 22. I plan to carry my Feminists for Life poster that declares “Women Deserve Better.”

We’re taking a couple of days to visit the Nation’s Capitol so we will miss the Texas Rally for Life to be held in Austin on Saturday January 24. The march begins at 4th and Guadalupe Street at 1 PM. We march up Congress Street to the South side of the Texas Capitol.

Governor Perry will headline the speakers at our Rally.
The Texas Alliance for Life sponsors the Rally website at
http://www.texasrallyforlife.org/

Right after the election I needed to *do* something. Making plans to go to Washington to support the Pro-life community is the least we could do (I’ll admit thinking the money would have gotten me a couple of days in the Caribbean)

Find your local rally and stand for life this month!

Bump to the top for life.

Who’s going to be at the Washington DC March for Life?

Who will make the Austin, Texas Rally or another?

What’s needed are thousands of signs stating -
NO BLOOD FOR CONVENIENCE!

Then get Drudge and Fox to follow up when the national media censors the signs from their broadcasts.

The March for Life in Tucson went very well, it was the biggest ever! I'm estimating 16-1700! I'll be praying for the national event.
