I don't think Talent should run again. Kenny Hulshof would be good except he lost a landslide election against Jay Nixon in 2008.

Otherwise, there's Peter Kinder. Kinder is a good guy and works very hard and can raise money, but he's not a real dynamic candidate.

Sarah Steelman would be the best candidate, IMO.

Is Carnahan popular in MO? Would you care to handicap the GOP’s chances of keeping the seat?

I think Republicans like Bond are seeing the writing on the wall that they may be in the minority for a long time to come. If the Dems claim his seat, we could conceivably fall into the mid 30 range in the Senate by 2010 unless the GOP figures out a way to get their act together and counter the False Messiah.

As for Talent, he’s only won one statewide and lost two, and that’s not a good record. Hulshof is a good man, but a bust for statewide. Roy Blunt ? Worst Republican Whip in the past half-century ? No way. Same goes for his gutless son who ran away from facing a contested reelection.

Yeah, Peter Kinder (now, sadly, our last remaining statewide Republican other than Bond) or Steelman are the only viable options, although I think Jo Anne Emerson is a possibility as well. The Carnahan spawn MUST be stopped.

Is there a reason Gov. Matt Blunt shouldn’t run?

Like the rest of her clan, Robin Carnahan is dumb as a bag of hammers. However Planned Parenthood will spare no cost to get her elected, as they did for her mouth-breathing, low-life carpetbagger brother Russ. Another infernal legacy from St. Mel, Missouri’s foremost secular martyr.

“Sarah Steelman would be the best candidate”

I agree, wholeheartedly! I voted for Steelman in the primary and I think she’d be a great candidate for Senate. I live in Southwest Missouri and Steelman has A LOT of support around here! There were signs for her everywhere over the summer.

I just hope we don’t get another Claire McCaskill.....

What about Matt Blount? You think this is what he had in mind when he decided not to run for reelection as governor?

Missouri ping

Low volume ping list

FReepmail me to be on, or off, this list.

I'd run if I thought I could come up with the money to run.
I'd lose but................

Is Bond scared Obama will campaign for whatever opponent may face him in 2010??

This is startin’ to look really rough folks.

Republicans bailing out like rats and a ship.

The Kenny Hulshof people will probably back Blunt. I could imagine the campaign slogans right now.

Steelman: Vote for me cos I’m a hot babe like Sarah Palin.

Blunt: Steelman is a selfish maverick like McCain. Just like McCain, Steelman takes pleasure in bashing other Republicans.

Robin Carnahan: Remember the glory days of the 90s when we had world peace and record economic growth under my dad, Mel. Happy days will be here again if I am allowed to help Obama change America.

When one looks through the list of 2010 election, nearly all look like easy Democrat wins.

I’m a little surprised. I thought Bond would go again. Of course it’s not a certain loss, that’s silly.

Blunt is running? Roy? He needs to be out as whip, this is one way to lose him.

Steelman please beat him. I hate to see the Rat governor appoint a Kinder replacement if he runs.

Emerson married a rat? Tsk tsk.
