Is this like Win2000 that was announced for years and then release as a $700 SERVER?
Will it be as good as VISTA?
Will vista owners get a rebate toward a new purchase id they can prove they are not happy? (i.e. if they can prove they own VISTA)
By all reports Windows 7 is a very very good OS, of course the appleites will never acknowledge this or the light weight smart asses who think it is cool to dump on something because a certain company that touched them in forbidden places made it. I personally can’t wait. It is supposed to be less resource grubbing, has the fastest boot time of any OS made, plus a lot of other little improvements and new things added.
So, I haven’t read anything about this...but is this something that is layed on top of Vista or a completely new OS?
Can everyone tell me what is a good virus protection that is good that isn’t expensive. Husband lost his job and don’t have a lot of money. I thought republicans were suppose to be rich!
They will pry my Windows XP from my cold dead fingers.
They will pry my Windows XP from my cold dead fingers.
Hopefully Windows 7 will completely bypass Vista and its problems
But I haven’t learned to make Vista work yet.
Translation - MICRO$OFT is getting ready to make another biennial multi-billion dollar withdrawal from the collective bank accounts of its user base.
Oh goody. Another source of the blue screen of death.
I’ll keep my money thanks.
Heaven help us all.
I’ll keep reading about it via my firefox browser.
Seriously though, I installed Ubuntu about 4 months ago now and made a real effort to use it exclusively. It turns out that I can do nearly everything with it that I could with windows, and what I can't do, or won't work with WINE, I use VirtialBox to load a windows machine from within Linux. I doubt I'll ever install M$ on one of my home machines again as the base OS.
Windows 7 will be market ready quickly. MS took XP and changed the background. Voila! Windows 7.
Joking.
Hey Ballmer, Just give me DirectX 10 for XP you lunatic.
Windows 7 is going to be great. Windows bashers - keep in mind that Microsoft always starts off with a crappy product but then hits one out of the park. It happened with Windows 98, Windows XP, the first Xbox, and now with Windows 7. No doubt that Microsoft heard folks loud and clear about Vista. I look forward to 7 but will keep XP for now.
