One of Chicago's most well-known real estate moguls appears to have shot himself to death, police said.
The body of Steven L. Good was found in his Jaguar on Monday. The car was spotted in a parking lot of a wildlife preserve in Kane County, Illinois, just outside Chicago, authorities said.
No note was found, and police say they do not know how long the 52-year-old had been in the vehicle.
Good was the chairman and chief executive officer of Sheldon Good & Co., a major U.S. real estate auction company.
The death comes amid great turmoil in the country's real estate industry. In his role as chairman of the Realtors Commercial Alliance Committee, Good commented on tough conditions last month at a business conference

Interesting, I believe he was an advisor to Obama's campaign on issues regarding the real estate market and its collapse and the impact on the economy.
According to the article:, "He had a zest for life. He has a wife and kids and he had so much in his life."
Wonder if there is more to the story....

looks like “Arkancide” is being replaced by “Chicagocide”
To: tomnbeverly
We'll have to come up with a new word for Arkancide.
I think the Obama administration is off to a faster start (with respect to mysterious deaths) than the Clintons.

Is it wrong that my thoughts were “why did they have to make a mess of the car”?

I bet lost a lion’s share of his money like Merkle did over in Germany this week. He probably decided that he would rather die than face the humiliation of his peers by becoming a “common” guy again.
He left a wife and kids too, b*stard probably didn’t care what he did to their lives by doing this in his selfishness.
7% commission on sales, 10%+ on what went through the auction. I bet he did alright a few years ago.

What you should wonder is what did he and the other billionaires that have checked out early know about the economic situation that we don’t. They chose to abandon the world rather than live through what is headed our way.

People replace the real God with other gods like the god of money. When all is lost they can't live with it or just exist being a regular guy, or say a nobody again. Whereas the Creator God is with us in rich and poor, good times and bad. Some say that's a crutch. Well, maybe, but most people are cripples one way or another. Like this guy. He has the world, when he had money but basically he had nothing “if not himself” (from the song My Way)

If he had insurance for a long time they have to pay out I believe. My policy was ten years, then they pay on suicide.
I know this because my wife first looks at the balance, sighs, then looks at the calendar then looks at the gun rack. Never figured out why she does that every time she pays the bills either...
