Next automotive must-have: the coconut husk interior. Eco-minded engineers develop a way to do it commercially - and increase the annual incomes of 11 million poor coconut farmers.

That thing won’t last thirty minutes before Gilligan wrecks it.
Crap you beat me to it! lol My first thought exactly!
Damn dude, beat me by a mere minute!
Adobe. The sassy new Mexican import that's made out of clay. German engineering and Mexican know-how helped create the first car to break the $200 barrier. At this price, you might not expect more than reliable transportation - but, brother, you get it! Extra features: like the custom contour seats, or the beverage-gripping dash. And the money you save isn't exactly small change!
The professors who came up with the coconut-husk interoir probably wouldn’t know how to repair a hole in a boat either.
I knew where this one was going as soon as I saw the topic.
Next it will be Ginger or Mary Ann?
Mary Ann
Unfortunately I am not in before the pics of the Gilligan’s Island car.
LOL - even the guns they’re holding are made of bamboo! It’s a liberal’s dream!

The thing is, Lovey can make me her pool boy and give me constant gifts . . . |
Yes it would be almost worth putting up with Gilligan just to live on the same island with Mary Ann. That and getting all the coconut cream pie one could want.
I’m going to have to agree with you there given the recent revelations that apparently Dawn Wells is a party girl.
If you think you’re fed up, the American Institute of Architects has jumped on the bandwagon big-time. As a design professional, I’m really irked at the new continuing education requirement (18 hours per year, with 8 of those hours Health, Safety & Welfare, and at least half of the 8 must now include “sustainability” topics). What a crock!
Also, there is a new certification - LEED AP. More initials after our names does not mean a client gets a more efficient, more reliable structure.
As a hunter, I probably do more for the environment than a lot of these green weenies. I don’t mind buying a “green” item here or there if it really is more efficient and more advanced but the reliability and durability, as well as maintenance, of a lot of these products leave a lot to be desired.
love the gilligan pics - my first thought also...
but let us think - how many coconuts will it take to make a car? one car?
how many cars will be needed?
multiply one by the other and you’ll get the number of coconuts needed.
now how many coconuts grow per tree? divide by this answer to get the number of trees needed.
how much room does each tree need? multiply by the above to get the total amount of real estate needed to make this work.
my guess is that this is more than tht total available, just like the ethanol crap requires more arable farmland that in the entire country, not to mention the long term dust bowl effects of growing the same crop over and over again.
more left wing baloney designed to make a few rich at the expense of the many.
now I have no objections to people getting rich - i wish more could, but i do take exception to people gettting rich on what is actually a fraud perpetuated in the name of ecology.
I’ve got a lo-ve-ly bunch of coconuts,,,,,
