AP: Senate Democrats to Accept Burris for U.S. Senate Seat

Senate Democrats plan to accept Roland Burris for President-elect Barack Obama's vacant seat, the Associated Press reports.

After being rejected Tuesday when he tried to join the class of incoming senators, Burris is expected to meet with the Senate's top two Democrats -- Majority Leader Harry Reid and assistant leader Dick Durbin -- on Wednesday in the hopes of securing their support.

The likelihood that Burris, a Democrat, will become the Senate's only black member after Obama's resignation from the seat, increased Tuesday when a key chairwoman got behind him, cracking what had been united public front by Senate Democrats against an appointee of Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich.

These Crats are even more stupid than I thought. They have done anything they could to ruin the economy and our overseas policy in order to get elected. They have had the assistance of the MSM 24/7 hate bush news. Now that they are in they do not have a clue. They are so scared they will try for RINO covering fire on everything. Unfortunatly the RINOS will give it.

This can only be happening if Blago has enough **** on Oinky to take him down, no other possible explanations. Blago just told 50+ demokkkrat US senators to **** his **** and they’re actually lining up to do it.

Reid had no choice...the appointment is legal. I thought Burris made a good case for himself in his press conference by making mention of the fact that the Dems had no problem with Blago’s authority when it came to setting up an election to fill Emmanuel’s seat.

Reid’s big mistake was saying they wouldn’t seat him, when he had no legal ground to stand on...now he looks the fool, and weak to boot!

When Feinstein came out in favor of Burris, Reid was sunk. He didn’t have a legality to stand on.

Just goes to show how dimwitted Reid is. He was outsmarted by Blago.

Give it up for the corrupt but sly Blago....he trumps his enemies calling for his head. Plus he defuses the scenario by appointing a ‘decent’ candidate who also lends protection by being a black man. The senate seat gets filled
which will take the attention off that drama and also dims the allegations against Blago of trying to sell the seat.
Now Fitzy must BIGTIME produce the goods on Blago...if Blago skates it makes Fitzy look like a fool and if Blago is indicted he spills lots of beans as well plus the “Rats know he is up for a fight to the end. Of course the American people lose no matter what but might as well enjoy the ‘Rats imploding in the process. Go Blago go you corrupted fool...thanks for the show pal!

I heard yesterday that Reid wanted Tammy Duckworth appointed. She apparently couldn't win elections on her own merits.

Yes, the press was getting a little to close to the truth on the Blago situation. The truth is that Emanuel was caught on tape advising Blago to take the SEIU offer because it had the fewest Obama fingerprints.

So, not only was Emanuel involved, but Obama’s buddies, the SEIU, and Obama, himself.

Can’t have that all coming out in televised hearings, now, can we?

Oh, and Fitzgerald offered to postpone any hearing until April, to give the story a chance to die down.

This SEIU is big trouble. This is the service union that has such close ties to Obama and has been involved in scandal after scandal and dirty elections in one state after another, including Al Franken’s election in Minnesota.

Obama refuses to take stand on seating Burris

President-elect Barack Obama has declined to support giving his vacated Senate seat to former Illinois Attorney General Roland Burris.

Obama told a news conference on Wednesday that the decision on whether to allow Burris to join the Senate is one for the Senate to make.

He said he has known Burris for years and would be happy to “work with him” if he ultimately gets seated but that he can’t go further than that

We will seat you. You will vote exactly as we say. Otherwise, this might be seen as “anti-black”...and we need the same dummies voting in the next election.

So Al Gore was right. There is no controlling legal authority.

In a piece of political theater, Burris, 71, tried and failed Tuesday to take Obama's seat.

He marched into the Capitol, declaring himself "the junior senator from the state of Illinois," and asked Secretary of the Senate Nancy Erickson to accept a certification of his appointment signed by Blagojevich. Erickson refused, saying it lacked Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White's signature and the state seal.

Bovine used food. Burris WAS CORRECT, Harry Reid is the one staging the drama. The rest of the Senate can read the tea leaves and will act before the courts slap them down.

Actually there is. That's the beauty of it. State Government + Due Process + Presumption of Innocence = Burris in the Senate.
