Levi Johnston quits oil field job (Libs cost him his job!)
Anchorage Daily News ^ | January 5, 2009 | WESLEY LOY

Posted on 01/06/2009 5:42:23 AM PST by Virginia Ridgerunner

Levi Johnston, the boyfriend of Gov. Sarah Palin's daughter Bristol, has quit his North Slope oil field job over questions about his eligibility to work in an electrical apprenticeship program, Johnston's father said Monday.

Johnston, 18, began working this fall in the Milne Point oil field with ASRC Energy Services Inc., a major Slope contractor.

In a Sunday newspaper column, Anchorage radio talk show host Dan Fagan questioned how Johnston could take part in ASRC's apprenticeship program without a high school diploma.

Fagan said he understood federal regulations require all members of apprenticeship programs to have a diploma. He also questioned whether the governor might have had a hand in getting Johnston into the program.

Palin adamantly denied that Monday.

Johnston's father, Keith Johnston, said the governor had nothing to do with getting Levi the Slope job. Keith Johnston said his own position as an ASRC construction engineer accounts for any help his son received in landing work.

From the article:

Fagan said he understood federal regulations require all members of apprenticeship programs to have a diploma.

You said:

I didn't hear any drumming.

I disagree with you. If there are federal regs involved, then those aren't chopsticks, they're drunsticks.

In the end, the correct thing will be done: Levi finishes his basic education, and he'll be a better apprentice for it.

So why is Sarah sending her kids to these indoctrination centers, wherein a Godless and communist mindset is being sold to unsuspecting children, and sex is traded like baseball cards? A place where young girls are impregnated by dropouts?

Don’t even think about trying to pass off that she had no other choices. Wintertime wears the fact that she homeschooled and still was a career woman on her sleeve.

What a **nice** compliment! Thank you!

The traitorous communist Democrat thugs of our nation know that if you repeat a lie often enough, it will eventually stick. This is especially true of the Communist Media Express Train that has its headlights trained on all conservatives.

Conservatives can learn a lesson from the Marxist thugs and apply their tactics in a moral manner.

Conservatives **must** repeat the **TRUTH** over and over and over again and NOT ever let go! Eventually the truth will stick.

The following are a few “Truths”:

*Those running the Democratic Party are COMMUNIST thugs!

*Their followers are Useful Idiots!

*We do NOT have schools. We have Marxist indoctrination camps, and the kids are prisoners.

*Some parents are lucky enough to be able to **RANSOM** their children from the communist school prisons by paying a FREEDOM OF CONSCIENCE TAX ( aka: private tuition and homeschool expenses) Some call it: JIZYA!

The teachers are communists and any Christian conservative teacher who thinks they can sneak in a little Christian conservatism is teaching the children that conservative Christians are SNEAKY.

We don't have “liberals”, “socialists”, “leftists”, or “progressives” in our nation. They are MARXISTS! It is time to use the word that fits, over and over again!

Axiom:
Scratch a liberal and under his thin skin is a socialist. Dig a little deeper and you will soon find the Marxist nuclear fuel rod that drives everything he says and does!

Corollary:

**ALL** Marxist thugs LIE!!! Everyone of them, so be prepared to deal with it. Don't act surprised.

It sounds like Levi Johnston got no more of a break than wouldn't make you blink an eye

I worked in my company's HR dept. at our stamping plant in Detroit for over 25 years and I can't even count the number of 3rd generation employees that passed thru our gates. We went out of our way to hire the sons and daughters of current employees if we were in a hiring mode.

During our last peak years, the 80's into the 90's, we would typically hire anywhere from 100 to 200 college kids to work production in the shop to cover for all the employees taking vacation time. All these kids were either friends or relatives of our employees.

Most of these kids would return to school in the fall and the ones who didn't usually were hired as full time employees.

Our company too had a "Policy" of requiring a high school diploma or equivalent GED.

But the only reason such policy existed, and the same reason why all other companies have such a policy is to deter kids from dropping out of high school and entering the work force.

Since it was obvious Levi had the approval of his father to go to work, the company certainly did not have an issue with it.

For anybody here thinking that Levi or the company were somehow breaking the rules, they need to lighten up.

To be fair Sarah opened the door herself by claiming that Levi wasn’t a high school dropout. It’s a matter of semantics. Levi doesn’t have a high school diploma yet.

He is enrolled in a correspondence program to obtain the diploma. So he is neither a drop-out, nor was Palin's comment false.

Sarah is STILL using the media to try to spin the tale of Bristol and Levi into some sort of asset to her political image

Oh yes! It's Sarah Palin USING the media for her goals. Lay off the kool-aid.

I disagree with you. If there are federal regs involved, then those aren't chopsticks, they're drunsticks.

In the company's formal statement, they said that the high school requirement was its own rule and was NOT federally mandated. That statement has been quoted and ignored several times on this thread. Read the article and judge for yourself.

Several people on this thread are claiming some vague "federal regulations" mandate the educational requirements. The company says there aren't any such regulations. I'll go with the company's statement as to the facts of the matter.

Here, I'll save you the time of reading the entire article:

In a written statement, the company said its electrical apprenticeship program eligibility requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, "but this is not a requirement mandated by the federal government."

it was his lying and deception that cost him the job

I hope to hell you have something to back up your libelous claim. Please post the source for your claim of "lying and deception" now.

Oh, please. Do you really expect Non-Sequitur to back up anything that he claims? That's just not his M.O.

I'm still waiting for a link to the People magazine baby pictures that he claims were published in the last issue. He's been ignoring that request for quite a while now.

I guess I should have known the article was so badly excerpted to have only included one half of two conflicting statements. It says in the part posted here that it was a federal mandate.

In the end, it's irrelevant. I still think the rule should have been adhered to, even if not mandated by the feds.

JAN—thanks for the info on Dan Fagan.

It confirmed what I thought—he’s a bottom feeder.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

YOU ARE CALLING ME A HYPOCRITE!

The issue here is NOT, NOT, NOT about homeschooling or careers! Is it, DMZ?

This is an attempt to**DESTROY** conservatism through character assassination! But,,,Hey! You're not one of those thuggish communists. Certainly not you.** I am absolutely sure of it**. Odd though,but...Character assassination is something the Marxists do very well.

I see some remedial math is needed here.

So?... How many years does it take to homeschool a kid so that they can enter college the age of 12 or 13? The answer is easy!

Answer: It takes 12 or 13 years. ( First “Duh” award)

Women have a 45 to 50 year work life. Professional woman tend to work even longer ( especially if their post H.S. education is included in that span) and it is not uncommon for them to work into their 80s.

Now do the subtraction needed. 45-13= 32, or 50-13=37, or even 60-13=47 ( please award the second “Duh Award”)

A women can homeschool full time and still have a vibrant, highly successful, and satisfying career in THIRTY=TWO TO FORTY SEVEN-YEARS ( or more) !

Thirty two to forty-seven years ( or more) is a long career! ( Third “Duh Award”, please)

By the way....Are you a product of the Marxist government indoctrination camps? (Just wondering?)

( Yes, I am shouting!)

It says in the part posted here that it was a federal mandate.

It doesn't even say that much. It says that it was the op-ed writer's understanding (whatever that means) that there is a federal mandate.

Just because the op-ed writer hears something and understands that it might be true doesn't make it a fact. But, then again, why let a bothersome little thing like fact get in the way of a good hit piece?

What a crock of BS. Get the kid a GED and put him back to work. That being said I always thought a kid whose daddy got him a job was a puss. My old man flat told me you gotta work ...go find a job, thats what men do. Being the youngest of 7 all my brothers pretty much told me the same thing, none helped and I didn’t even ask them for a reference. That is being a man, no body and I do me NO BODY owes you shit, get out and survive....or not.

Rules are rules.....uh huh

BS.

No one cares about "rules". If "rules" were obeyed, there'd be no crime, no progress, no soaring in humanity's spirit, no striving to overcome. "Rules" are violated, stretched, twisted, ignored, shredded and manipulated on a constant basis. This has nothing whatsoever to do with "rules". By "the rules", such garbage as Sweet Caroline Kennedy would be forced to pay her dues before seeking to become one of the "rulers". By "the rules", the putrid Bernie Madoff would be in a dank and dark prison, awaiting his time in the docket. By "the rules", the traitorous Left wouldn't be permitted to recount and recount, endlessly, until a vote total acceptable to them is achieved.

This has everything to do with control and intimidation.

The working man gets the shaft, once again. A man does what he must to provide for his family and the rulers seek to control the working man. I for one am sick to death of playing by "the rules". Playing by the rules has done very little good for millions upon millions of honest, hardworking common people. It is fast becoming time when the working man will take what he needs and those who stand in his way will find themselves faced with either accepting the working man's actions or becoming useless debris pushed to the side, as all barriers eventually are destined.

Hey rules are rules.

Libs and Dims are always breaking rules so they can get an advantage over Conservatives. Now it’s time for Conservatives to take off the gloves and fight dirty, just like their enemies and the enemies of America (Liberals). Break the rules as much as you can, that’s the only way Conservatives can win and Save America from G_dless Communism.
