THESE CALLS WE RECEIVED ARE FROM THE PEOPLE WHO EITHER THE ONES WHO DIRECTLY HEARD IT OR WERE CALLED BY THEIR CHILDREN TO REPORT WHAT THEY WERE DIRECTLY TOLD BY THE CABBIE THEMSELVES

Most likely.
But...a clever planner could perhaps take advantage of a known serial hoax such as this where any slips of the tongue by underling operators would largely be dismissed in the general hubbub. Or maybe just to revel in seeing open net chatter as the date approached.
duh,seems I remember several variations on the same story going around after 911 when everyone was waiting for the next thing to happen.
Just imagine, a sinister, sophisticated planning network whose plans are so secret that all the cabbies in new york are in on it AND they are good hearted so they warn big tipping Jews.

I had a friend several years ago who recieved an email telling him of a very serious computor virus and told him to check to see if his computer had a certain file. Well he checked, sent everyone in his email list a warning and told them if they found the same file to delete it.
Well to make a long story short the file was an important part of the system and once deleted the computer shut down..
His information is not from the Internet.
