Letter from Apple CEO Steve Jobs (he'll be OK)
Apple ^ | January 5, 2009 | Steve Jobs

Posted on 01/05/2009 3:59:48 PM PST by ari-freedom

Dear Apple Community,

For the first time in a decade, I’m getting to spend the holiday season with my family, rather than intensely preparing for a Macworld keynote.

Unfortunately, my decision to have Phil deliver the Macworld keynote set off another flurry of rumors about my health, with some even publishing stories of me on my deathbed.

I’ve decided to share something very personal with the Apple community so that we can all relax and enjoy the show tomorrow.

As many of you know, I have been losing weight throughout 2008. The reason has been a mystery to me and my doctors. A few weeks ago, I decided that getting to the root cause of this and reversing it needed to become my #1 priority.

Fortunately, after further testing, my doctors think they have found the cause—a hormone imbalance that has been “robbing” me of the proteins my body needs to be healthy. Sophisticated blood tests have confirmed this diagnosis.

The remedy for this nutritional problem is relatively simple and straightforward, and I’ve already begun treatment. But, just like I didn’t lose this much weight and body mass in a week or a month, my doctors expect it will take me until late this Spring to regain it. I will continue as Apple’s CEO during my recovery.

I have given more than my all to Apple for the past 11 years now. I will be the first one to step up and tell our Board of Directors if I can no longer continue to fulfill my duties as Apple’s CEO. I hope the Apple community will support me in my recovery and know that I will always put what is best for Apple first.

I’ll believe it when I see it. Maybe he’s just trying to ward off a stock collapse for his pals. He’s a real creep.

Good to see he will be getting better.

Although, I did put him in my dead pool for 2009.

It was certainly noticed a few months ago. People were concerned. People thought he was dying.

Then he came out with a simple explanation (I forget what it was. Special diet?) and said that it was all under control and he was perfectly fine.

Not so much. Turns out that he didn't know what was going on, but "a few weeks ago" he decided to find out why he was so sick. So now he has come out with a simple explanation (I've already forgotten what it is) and says that it's all under control and he is perfectly fine.

He's dying and he's covering up. That's what he did with the pancreatic trouble a few years ago. He had a legal obligation to reveal that problem, and he kept it a secret as long as he could.

Doing it again.

My understanding is that he is a staunch vegetarian.

He is not getting enough nutrition from his food.

I’d like some of that “hormone imbalance.”
How can I get that “hormone imbalance” so I can drop some pounds too?

Wish I’d bought some Apple stock last week when the stock dropped. I’m not totally convinced that his cancer hasn’t returned, but I wish the best for Steve Jobs.

I read on a stock forum someone suspected he had HIV/AIDS and that was why he was sick all the time, I don’t know if thats true, but I do know that the stock will drop like a rock once he’s gone....like it did years ago.

I read that the hormone he is lacking originates in the Pancreas? I just lost a 69 year old friend due to a weird mental glitch similar to Anorexia. He just rejected all food until they inserted a feeding tube and he rejected that also so he starved to death. Sad...

He’s a real creep.

That was unnecessary.

And the balance of your post indicates to me that you are looking in the wrong direction for creepiness. Perhaps some self examination might be in order.
