The USA is being infiltrated by illegals, sold to foreign powers and abandoned by its government. But are Americans enabling the dissolution of our economy and country as well by continuing to buy foreign goods?

We lost our collective American sense of quality (and morality, a combination deal) over the last five decades, for both material and non-material things. The last election proved it beyond all doubt. I believe the only thing that can turn America around, as has happened in the past, is real Christian revival.

In general, I think celebrity endorsements are overrated. They do have some value, however, in the early stages when the field of candidates are crowded and anything to make the candidates stand out is welcomed. I don't think Oba Mao would have won Iowa without the Oprah endorsement, but just days or weeks later, she was a non-issue.

Norris certainly didn't have the same importance to Hucksterbee. But my point is that it would be wise for celebs to check out candidates on theirpet issues before they even offer their endorsements. Had Norris done so, we might have seen him endorse a Duncan Hunter or Tom Tancredo, both of whom had superb records on illegal immigration. At the very least, he could have led his endorsement to a Fred Thompson or Mitt Romney, neither of whom have great records on the issue, but neither of whom echoed the open borders position of McCain-Hucksterbee-Oba Mao either.

I suspect that McCain emerged the leader because of support from people who had no intention of voting for him, or any Republican, during the general election.

And also because conservatives were splitting their support among the various other candidates. It's not uncommon for a conspicuously crappy candidate to pull ahead in a crowded field when all the people with good sense split their vote elsewhere.

The sad thing is that allot of libs know this to be true also but are too Chicken sh*t to speak up. They hide behind political correctness so not to be hastled. Chuck has it right on...the American people are allowing it.

I respect Chuck for speaking out. I saw part of a bio of Tom Selleck last week end. He's pro second amendment, and has taken a lot of heat for it. It can't be easy for actors who depart from the extreme left wing philosophy of Hollywood.

You already pay enough for products made by Americans. A pair of Carhartt jeans made in the US go for $50.

Where the heck are you shopping? I've seen Carhartt jeans for $30 at Tractor Supply. In fact, I have a pair on now and love them. They've outlasted the cheap imports several times over and still look good enough to wear to work.

I for one will be buying no foreign made anything this year. If I have to buy and can’t find American, then I’ll buy used stuff

I’m willing to pay more for the labor of others, therefore, I’m willing to work for less purchasing power, if they are willing to meet me halfway. This buy American thing is a two way street. If I have an obligation to buy American, then those who are selling have a reciprocal obligation to make it worth my while. Otherwise, it’s just another form of welfare.

I think it is all about where are the profits.

It MATTERS when the corporate profits go to the HQ in the USA.

I think it would be MORE useful to encourage companies to flee states like michigan, california and NY.
