Democrats left in Blago's hands the very power to appoint a US senator at the root of his most spectacularly corrupt schemes........ Democrats ranted about Blagojevich's moral turpitude....letting him keep a loaded political gun and simply trusted that their admonitions would prevent him from pointing it at anyone. Sure enough, the delightfully shameless governor strode into a press conference, waved the gun around and then blasted away - and Democrats have no one but themselves to blame.

Hey! Take that back.
The tolls are every TWO miles!
;-)
All is not lost-—maybe Patty will give Blag one of her “specials” on Valentine’s Day.
Man, I sure would love to hear that coming from those lily-livered lips of his. LOL.
There has also been a huge outcry from my friends and family. We have been working the phones and offering our support of Burris as well. We support the rule of law, something Harry Reid thinks is for other people.
I just got off the phone with the person answering the phone in one of Rush's two home offices. I told the lady who answered that I was calling from California but that I think what Congressman Rush is doing is important for the entire country because he is supporting the rule of law. I had to slow down and repeat myself so she could write down every word. She said Congressman Rush want to know exactly what people are saying. This is really exciting. We can make a difference here.
(This is just getting good...the suspense of it all!!)
That is the reward of being out of power, like 93-94, you get to attack from both sides. You have it perfect, the public rewarded democrats for cynical politics (and GWB incompetence sadly) in attacking GWB for everything. Now we can play.
I thought UP YOURS HAIRY REID!!!
Democrats won’t be able to govern. They are busily engaged in conducting their circular firing squad.
We have learned every trick in the book by watching the Democrats unfairly characterize and attack GWB. Now the chickens have indeed come home to roost. I'm going to hit these clowns with everything I got....and I learned it all by being on the receiving end. Lets work the phones, write email, call CSPAN; we certainly know the drill. Look out Harry Reid because we are going to play 'Smear the Queer' and you are the guy holding the ball.
Lets get Barbara Lee to chime in.
I love the way you think. You definitely have the right idea of being the opposition minority. I just wish more Freepers would pick up that we need to use and enjoy the same cynical techniques democrats have used for 8 years.
I am unhappy with R party but definitely hate the democrats who were rewarded for causing nothing but trouble for 14 years (since 1994).
I'm with you. I hate Republicans, but I hate Democrats worse. Lets face it; politicians suck but Republicans suck slightly less and some of the Republicans are actually decent folks, although this is the minority.
Instead of crying about how crappy things are we need to pull ourselves together and get back in the game. This is no time for tears. Think of Bluto's speech at the end of Animal House:
"What the bleep happened to the Delta I used to know? Where's the spirit? Where's the guts, huh? This could be the greatest night of our lives, but you're gonna let it be the worst. "Ooh, we're afraid to go with you Bluto, we might get in trouble." Well just kiss my *ss from now on! Not me! I'm not gonna take this. Wormer, he's a dead man! Marmalard, dead! Niedermeyer...
Take a moment today to call a member of the Black Caucus or write a letter to the Editor of your local paper and really stick it to Dingy Harry. Expose that racist Mormon for trying to keep the only African American out of the US Senate.
RE :”Expose that racist Mormon for trying to keep the only African American out of the US Senate.”
LOL, you are killing me!
This is fun stuff. I don't understand all the long faces. I have not felt so wired and inspired since 1994. Come on folks lets have some fun while we save our country from those rascally Democrats. We have had much bigger challenges than this. What sort of example do we want to set for our children? My young adult children know this is no time for tears. We need to regroup, devise a plan and start attacking the liberal agenda with fresh conservative ideas.
Still, I never thought GWB was a true conservative and he had that typical rich white guy guilt that he liked to call "compassionate conservatism". Of course the good news is we now have an opportunity to reshape the conservative movement and stick to true conservative principles. We need to reintroduce young people to Ayn Rand and Adam Smith. And we need to be Happy Warriors. Lets have some fun and enjoy ourselves. Life is short.
Last November fellow republicans were trying to decide ‘poison’ or ‘gun’ over loss, all because they believed all the doomsday talk (if our last hope McCain didn't win ). I was reminding them of 16 years ago, 1993-1994 when our bonds were broken and Rush taught us how to have fun as a minority. You are the first I have bumped into that appreciates it, in fact I wonder if you are my other personality LOL.
Checkout my comment #2 from November 7, does this sound like you or what?:
Cheer up gloomy freepers. All that pre-election doomsday talk about crazy stuff like Fairness Doctrine , get rid of 401Ks, prosecute Bush. I dream that they would be stupid enough to try a bunch of crazy liberal stuff . They won two elections by playing careful, now we need to go to democratic websites and encourage the Cindy Sheenans to challenge their leadership to go Chavis LOL.

Yep. We drove up from Missouri to a small town on the Illinois eastern border. It was shocking. I lived in Illinois in the 60-70’s and the roads were pretty good. Looks like there has been no investment since I left there!
Perfect analogy. And then, to top it off, he played the race card masterfully.
My guess is that you had great parents. I know I did. When I listen to Rush talk about his folks it reminds me of my mom and dad. Both of my parents were smart, witty and very involved in civics. My mom was out walking precincts registering voters while I stayed behind coloring at GOP headquarters in Bakersfield the day JFK was shot. I had a front row seat to politics my entire life and was taught at the knee of masters. All the great politicians from either side of the aisle know not to take themselves too seriously. Everything always works out perfectly if you keep your head screwed on straight. Our family motto is "No running. No screaming." No matter what happens stay cool and figure out what part of the situation is good for you. And most important is the part about having fun. Life is too short and I shall not squander a moment feeling sorry for myself.
