Obama Still an Enigma Days Before Inauguration
Pajamas Media ^ | January 4 | Jennifer Rubin

Posted on 01/04/2009 12:59:48 PM PST by AJKauf

It seems as if a lifetime has passed since the 2008 presidential election. John McCain’s Keystone Cops campaign is a hazy memory. The daily media barrage aimed at Sarah Palin has vanished. And the notion that Republicans might retain the White House during the greatest financial meltdown in seventy years now seems like a distant pipe dream. Meanwhile, in the interim between the election and the start of the new year, the country has learned a bit more about its president-elect.

He hasn’t downloaded voluminous policy plans or divulged his deepest thoughts, but his actions – and decisions not to act – during the transition period suggest that he may not be exactly what either his supporters hoped or his opponents feared. The contours of his agenda are still not crystal clear, but some of the blanks have been filled in over the last two months.

For starters, the fear of some on the Right — and the hope of those on the Left — that President-elect Obama was an ultra-dove, a sort of Manchurian candidate, has been largely discredited.

The daily media barrage aimed at Sarah Palin has vanished.

Um...I don't think so. The Obamedia is already working on 2012. Governor Palin's new grandson is their latest target.

Jennifer Rubin, and others on the “right” who have hopes that Obama will govern as a centrist are going to be very disappointed.

Gee, I don't know, maybe that's because he was plucked from obscurity by Soros operatives who figured out that in '08 demographics would trump everything and a clean, articulate, black, "blank canvass" was all they need or wanted.

I want civility. I want President Obama to succeed. I pray for his success.

And I define success as:

He will be weak and indecisive from Day One, and early in his term, as he finds himself intellectually and emotionally incapable of dealing with the thousands of decisions a President must make, has a breakdown that cannot be concealed from the public, so that, as Biden takes over the functions of the President, the public at last starts to question how the Democratic Party foisted such an unstable, incompetent, corrupt ticket on the country.

They mis-spelled "illegal" again. Let's fix it:

Obama Still an Enigma Illegal Days Before Inauguration.

There, that's better.

Why do they keep saying this stuff? There is no enigma and there never has been. The reason you can't find any evidence of Obama's deepest, innermost beliefs, feelings and interests are is because he doesn't have any.

Obama has devoted his life to one thing: Self aggrandizement. That's what matters to him. That's who he is. No enigma. No mystery. No missing information. Nothing.

Or, to paraphrase a wise saying: You can know him by his acts.

Of course we do not know much about Obama because the media have been busy investigating Joe the Plumber’s dentist’s janitor’s parking ticket instead. If America was as careful about choosing its plumbers as it is choosing its presidents, America might still have a chance.

What’s so hard to figure out? He’s going to cut defense spending, increase domestic spending, increase the size and reach of government, create a domestic Kiddie Corps, suck up to a few foreign enemies, and make greenhouse emissions a critical consideration in government policy. All things he said he’d do in his campaign.
