There was a time, now disparaged by liberals, when it was considered un-American to advocate the overthrow of the United States. Indeed, even congress thought so and launched investigations to reveal by "outing" prominent people who harbored such thoughts and philosophies. Of course, in today's age of political correctness, and worse, those investigators are defiled and the guilty are revered. Many of those discovered to be un-American resided in Hollywood but others were in government and in classified research. Our arch enemy at the time, the Soviet Union, advanced there own research programs with the help of these "un-Americans."

We can think back with pride to decades of hard work toward our strategic goal of a big enough, broad enough and united enough labor and all-people’s movement that could overcome the ultra-right blockage to all progress. That all people’s movement has come to life, it is dynamic and it has the potential to keep growing.

The election of Barack Obama and a strengthened Congress creates new conditions in our country. There is now the possibility to shift gears and move forward. This new day requires us to further develop our tactics in order to continue to deepen and broaden labor and people’s unity.

There are thousands of experiences that we all have had in these momentous days, some large, some small, all of which express the enormity of change in thinking and readiness for involvement that is underway and that steels us for the battles ahead.

The tears of joy we all shared as crowds gathered to watch the election results here and throughout the world dramatize the new moment we are in.

Somehow, I imagine the leftists will now embrace the government and comments about overthrowing the government, after Jnauary 20, will once again be considered treasonous.

I would also imagine gone will be the slogans, “question authority,” and “Speak truth to power,” at least over the next 4 years.

As leftists declared on the evening of November 4, 2008 locally, Americans finally came together.

Hate to tell them, I may be a conservative in exile, but I’m not dead and as long as I can speak or post on my blog, here or other forums, I will fight them to he bitter end.

I list the 30-06 and 30-30 winchester rounds for these are two VERY popular rounds and ammunition for both are easy to obtain (the same with the 12 Gauge shotgun). I list the 7.62 AK round do to the huge number of SKSs and AKs imported since the fall of the Soviet Union. I list it for while there are probably more 30-30s and 30-06 rifles out they than 7.62 Aks and SKSs, the Aks and SKSs may very while outnumber the rifles in 5.56x45 and 7.62 NATO.

i find it quite incredible but i actually agree with ayers on a couple of things in that april article on his website, this in particular

The first line of defense is, and has always been, YOU.  Not your representatives, not your lawyer, not a judge.  It's you.  And me.  And everyone.

The first line of defense has always been the people who vote and the people who fight (intellectually, litigiously, or physically).  Too many do neither today and expect someone else to fix the mess.  We fight wars with words on forums and blogs because we don't want to spend the time or stand out by communicating to our elected idiots, or voting, or making a stand.

The curse of the conservative is that we tend to be quiet and mind our own business while the left makes all the noise and gets in your face.  We're too busy working, going to school and raising families to be distracted by sacrificing some time and money to set things straight.  Why should we?  We have elected officials to perform that job for us... right?  Well, not if we don't vote and make some noise of our own. 

It's you.  And me.  And everyone.

We cling to forums and talk radio while the left has mastered all other forms of media.  Even Obama's face has been placed in video games to program the minds of the youth.  Nothing is going to change unless you, me, and everyone makes that change.

So if you have no energy left, if you have no drive left, if you have no spine, if you're not willing to make some sacrifices and if you're waiting for a white knight to come along and save the day, then you are correct.  There is no hope.

Grab a pen, a sword or your checkbook and make a difference.
