With the recession deepening and numerous other world crises brewing, President-elect Barack Obama may be tempted to postpone any action on global warming until after his first year in office. This would be a huge mistake for a host of reasons, but most particularly because time is running out for mankind to take the needed actions to thwart the most disastrous effects of climate change.

Heard on Ron Smith Show (WBAL) this afternoon. "...some delay may even appeal to the president-elect with centrist tendencies" Centrist?? Gag me with a spoon. However, "time is running out for mankind" might not be a completely inaccurate statement - just not for the reasons the Baltimore Sun thinks. Sheesh I'm glad they don't get any money from me any more.

” The relevant scientific community has reached a clear consensus: Many decades of unchecked fossil fuel consumption has pushed the planet far beyond the natural cycle, and the impact of this enhanced warming, especially the forecast rise in sea level this century, could ultimately lead to human suffering on an epic scale.”

I was under the impression that more and more people were acknowledging that man-made global warming was a confirmed hoax?
More to come, let’s not be swayed.

Its a scheme to make Al Gore even richer than he is now through the Carbon Credit, cap and Trade scams.
One of the most stupid ideas I ever heard of .

The ignorance and stupidity of the MSM seem to know no bounds. Facts don't matter to these folks. It would take glaciers descending across the northern most US states before they would stop believing in this nonsense. And even that wouldn't change the minds of some.
And you wonder why the newspapers are dying!

I have a New Year's Resolution to not pop off when the words “carbon footprint” come out of ignoramus mouths. Carbon is a base element. We are carbon-based life forms as are all living things. When anything burns, it turns into carbon. Argh. I gave up math and science for Lent 20 years ago and even I know this stuff. Jeez. All we're doing is displaying our stupidity and gullibility for the world to see when this crap gets enshrined into law. God help us. Please.

I would one up the BS. I believe we need a huge tax on newsprint and ink. Retroactive for say 5 years. It is saves just one child, it would be worth it. If they object, they must hate children.
