Ineligible Obama, Playing with Constitutional Fire
Right Side News ^ | January 2, 2009 | JB Williams

Posted on 01/02/2009 10:37:08 AM PST by PlainOleAmerican

Numerous legal challenges have been filed in an effort to force president-elect Barack Obama to validate his constitutional eligibility for the office he seeks and while it is true that suit after suit has been denied in the courts, it is also true that all of them have been denied on a technicality rather than on the merits of the case against Obama.

And although Obama could have ended the debate months ago by simply delivering a $10.00 certified copy of his official birth records to prove his constitutional edibility, he has instead chosen to spend nearly a million bucks in legal defense fees hoping to run out the clock and assume office before any of the legal challenges will be heard by the courts.

A few things are quite clear at this point

* Article II - Section I of the Constitution clearly limits those who can serve as Commander-in-Chief to "natural born citizens" of the United States, and for good reason

* The Hawaii certificate posted on Obama's web-site is insufficient and in question at best

* Obama's Kenyan relatives state that they attended his birth in Kenya

* Later, Obama was indeed a legal citizen of Indonesia, traveling under his Indonesian passport as recent as in his early twenties

* There is no known record of Obama changing his Indonesian citizenship back to American citizenship, and it wouldn't make him a "natural born citizen" even if he did

* None of this seems to matter to anyone of consequence...

On this basis, we are headed towards not one, but numerous constitutional crises.

How will an unconstitutional president rule?

“...but why does Obamer NOT produce evidence and shut everyone up?”

That is a question that you as a citizen may ask but also a question that MUST BE ASKED by every member of government. By not doing so, members of Congress, SCOTUS and the WH only show their arrogant disregard of the Constitution and the will of the American people.

That this situation even exists is incomprehensible, especially since its resolution is so simple and straightforward — he must show a valid BC and end this guessing game.

Thank you for the most poignant post on this thread... You had the guts to say what a couple others have only had the guts to sheepishly imply... The Constitution is a dead issue to many Americans, nothing more than a “historic relic” as you say, the value of an outhouse copy of a Sears catalog at best.

As you can see, most of us violently disagree with such a childish ill-informed opinion. But I applaud your willingness to put a fine point on the hidden agenda of so many who lack similar courage to be so open about it.

>Our freedoms rest in the reality that they were “endowed by our Creator”<

Many of our legislators do not believe in the existence of a Creator, so how can you expect them to defend and protect our Constitution? In order to accept the above statement one must first believe in a Creator.

......"The Obama/Dunham divorce decree to be posted Friday, Jan 2"....

I have seen no evidence that Stanley and the African chap were actually married. This would make it two bastards in a row for Democratic Presidents.

“I agree. Most of the Constitution is a historic relic. We should not get all wound up in it. The whole “natural born” issue is ridiculous. We live in an international world, we are all citizens of that world.
This is 2009, already! Let’s move on. This thing makes us all look silly.”

Nothing makes my day like a good helping of sarcasm.

Not to be argumentative for arguments’ sake, but if Obama is ordered to produce a birth certificate, and can’t, and the SCOTUS rules him ineligible to take the oath on January 20th, you will see inner city riots like you haven’t seen before. Forget Watts, or Rodney King, or Detroit. Blacks will lose their marbles and we will see riots that you only see in third world countries. The media will be no help; they will say that he deserves the office anyway because of 60+ million votes. The blacks will feel they are being cheated and that their free prosperity is being stolen by white justices.

I was shocked to read in our local paper a letter to the editor by a local black man, age 37. His comment was, “I always felt like I was American, but never felt like America thought I was American. Now I do.”

That comment makes me angry. He was never accepted probably because he acted “black” and jivey his entire life. I’ve got bad news. He and his subculture STILL will not be accepted, President Obama or not. The problem isn’t America, or a black President. The problem is him.

Don’t expect common sense on these matters either from black Americans or the media.

...what I find surprising is the relative flippant and facile aquiescence of it from a FReeper.

My flippant, facile acquiescence is only exceeded by my pragmatic desire not to expend all my ammunition in what may, at best, become a Pyrrhic victory. The revolution some have spoken about in here will surely come if it's successfully proven he was born elsewhere and those who forced the issue attempt to force him from office. Ask yourself, do you want to die on this hill?

Just as crimes were committed in previous administrations and the constitution survived, this too will be swept away into the dustbin of history.

In the end, it is up to the people to defend themselves from a government gone astray...

The buck always stops with the people.

I’ve wasted far too many keystrokes on this matter before, and don’t have time now, but suffice it to say that because the Dems hold the Congress there is no chance that the GOP will get the office of the Presidency.

If Obama takes the oath, and is subsequently declared ineligible, then we are stuck with President Biden for four years. Uggh.

If he doesn’t take the oath, Nancy Pelosi can probably engineer a constitutional amendment, and serve as Acting President on her own, and President Obama would assume office 60 or so days late.

“...at best, become a Pyrrhic victory..”

#####

The “victory” will not be in ousting Obama from office, but in reaffirming publicly, that the Constitution remains the the law of the land.

Not sure you are right about your assessment here.

The entire election was the result of a fraudulent candidate. That means Biden as well, and Pelosi and Reid, along with all other leaders of the party who helped perpetrate the fraud...

It would invalidate all of them from holding office, if it is found out after he is sworn into office... No?

"Then, there is no reason for him not to produce the document"

Yes there is. That reason being that no such document exists proving he is a natural-born Citizen of the United States. The only course of action he can take is to blow it off and hope he can run out the clock.

Where there is a will, there is a way. Pi$$ on the the Constitution and $hit on the people it represents. It's working, and he'll publicly wipe his ass on the document as soon as he is sworn in. And he'll be ready to handle anyone who objects. A lot of planning and tons of money have gone into this coup. I suspect some of everyone's closest friends have given their tacit approval.

“Ask yourself, do you want to die on this hill?”

Simply, yes. There is no “hill” nor cause greater then defending the second of most sacred of documents in man’s history. To look the other way on a blatant assault on something so clearly stated and universally interpreted as “natural born citizen” is to make insignificant all that we stand for as a nation.

“America is at that awkward stage. It’s too late to work within the system and too soon to shoot the bastards.”

Well... at some point it’s not going to be “too soon”.

The “victory” will not be in ousting Obama from office, but in reaffirming publicly, that the Constitution remains the the law of the land.

If the most criminal president since Richard Nixon can't he removed from office for offenses far greater than not being willing or able to demonstrate where on earth he exited his mother's womb, your chances of winning this battle are slim to none and slim just saddled his horse and left town. Your argument will be framed as "wanting to overturn the will of the people" and you will lose that argument. You'll be marginalized in any battle you wage in the future. So, do you want to stay in the fight or blow your wad here?

FR has millions of readers. I’m sure obamanoids want the issues relegated to a section where they will be imminently ‘buried’ away from public consumption.

I have posted lots of messages to FR, and you can browse them to see if I am an "obamanoid" leftie. I voted for McCain/Palin and contributed $400 to their campaign.
