The top Senate Republican said his caucus would block any attempt to seat Democrat Al Franken until an anticipated court case over Minnesota's close election is finished and an official election certificate is conferred.
Texas Sen. John Cornyn said Friday that Republicans would object to seating the race leader Franken sooner. A filibuster would require 60 votes to break a few more than Democrats currently hold in Washington.

Thank God for my Senator.
There’s little to do except to watch as the Dems try to block Burris and try to seat Franken. It’s like a bad sitcom that gets persistently high ratings.

Keep counting till the Democrat has a lead, then declare him the winner. It worked in Washington State. they will make it work here. It also helps to have a Democrat “canvasing” board to canvas the election results in their favor.
You know, some of us Californians are going to enjoy having someone in the Senate who’ll draw attention away from our own numbskulled senator, Barbara Boxer.
Thanks, MN, much appreciated.
“You know, some of us Californians are going to enjoy having someone in the Senate wholl draw attention away from our own numbskulled senator, Barbara Boxer.”
That’s the good news. The bad news is that it’s a stupidity contest, and there’s only a slim chance that Boxer can be edged out.
i just cant believe al franken is going to be a senator. that just shows what has happened to the citizens of this country. things are heading south and fast.
I demand another recount.
It won’t matter. In the end, the GOP senators will be shaking Franken’s hand, calling him “my good friend” on TV shows, and badmouthing those “meanspirited Rightwingers”.
Well, if anyone can do it, it’s Al Franken.
Yaeh....Jesse Ventura, Al Franken.....I suppose that Garrison Keillor will be the next one in this never-ending nightmare that has become Minnesota “politics”.
At last, some indication that the GOP has some nads. Now the only question is how long will they maintain that stance.
The democrat party has relied on the GOP lack of spine to maintain their program of massive voting fraud.
Deny them at every turn and make it hurt.
