I suspect that adulthood has hit those two kids like a ton of bricks. May they emerge stronger for it.

Waiting for the pinhead brigade to bash her for using the word “butt”.

Cute kid, it’s going to test them in ways they can’t imagine. I wish them luck.

It must be supremely difficult For Governor Pailin to watch the media establishment attacking her child and grandchild in a relentless political vendetta against her conservative beliefs, and against the American middle and lower classes - which liberal elites detest.

“They” have got the Presidency, the Senate, the Congress.

And yet “they” continue to fire cheap shots at teenagers who choose to bear babies instead of aborting them, teenagers who choose GED/work instead of classroom, and anything else “they” would never dream of as part of their own privileged lives.

I can not judge these youngsters actions as I too was young and did the deed way too early. However, why were they not using contraception to prevent this.

That I do not get.

‘Palin Says New Parents Levi and Bristol ‘Working Their Butts Off’

The Obama supporters would claim ‘working their butts off’ is punishment for having a child.

The child is a gift from God.......

And they’re not married either.

Having raised a daughter who signed a “pledge to wait until marriage” only to break it (well, got drunk and date raped by three classmates), I know that parents can only do so much. We try to instill morality but as soon as a child enters pre-kindergarten, we parents start losing our influence. By the time a child is in Middle-School, if not before, Peer Pressure and Peer Immorality becomes more important than a Parent’s rules, regulations and threats. (Bill Cosby’s “I brought you into this world and I can take you out.” They know it’s not going to happen.)

And when the child does something we parents did not teach, whether it is a 5 year old stealing a small toy in a department store or a teenager getting drunk and ending up pregnant, then WE have to make choices.

How do we discipline the 5 year old? Physical discipline or do we take the child back to the store and make him return the toy and apologize to the store manager?

How do we discipline the pregnant teenager? Do we force some choice on her or wait until she says “Abortion is not an option.” Do we throw her pregnant butt out of the house. (Yes, it’s not her butt that got pregnant.) Do we let her figure it out on her own and decide to keep or adopt out the baby?

I do not understand how spanking a 5 year old will keep him from stealing. I also do not understand why parents would toss a teenage daughter out of their home when she needs them the most just because she became pregnant.

I admire Gov. Sarah Palin and First Dude Todd Palin MORE because they showed Bristol the unlimited love of parents. Their example speaks loud volumes for their children. Parental love is strong in their family and is an example for their children to follow.

As I’ve emailed to Governor Palin, perhaps this is God’s way of giving Trig a playmate who will take care of him when he grows up because of the bond established between Trig and Tripp through Bristol before Tripp was born. Ya just never know what God has in store when He takes a situation and works it for His good.

Happy New Year, all.

Agreed. Levi, we are told, wants to be an electrician and Bristol wants to be a nurse. Fine ambitions, and within their reach. Go to it, you two; show the world the fabric you are made of. There are a lot of us who wish you well.

From the article: "Any suggestion to the contrary "harms Bristol's reputation and Levi's reputation and their chances for good work opportunities," Pail said.

What's with Pail? Is that what the MSM is calling her now?

Are these two young new parents crazy? Being unwed and having a new baby they could be on all kinds of government programs - WIC coupons, wellness programs, free health, etc., etc., etc. Why should they work their butts off? Don’t they know the Liberal programs will give them everything they need? Geez, thousands of other new young parents out there have figured out that system.....

The moron host sitting in for Todd Schnitt of the "Schnitt Talk Show" (Florida) this week called baby Tripp a "bastard".

In response to the phone calls that flooded in, he said he was just telling it "like it is".

That may be like it is, but he's even more tasteless than Schnitt.

The phrase, "their butts", wouldn't be surprising out of his yap, but perhaps folks in major league politics would be advised to drop the the term in favor of, perhaps, "their fannies"......LOL

"You need to know that both Levi and Bristol are working their butts off to parent and going to school and working at the same time," the Alaska governor told the magazine in a phone message. "They are certainly not high school dropouts."

Governor, there's no need to tell us. This is one of those situations in which time reveals all.

The way parenthood has impacted these two kids will become plain for all to see in 6, 12, 18 months and longer and there'll be no need for explanations or spin. The success or failure of their relationship will be obvious.

OK, but if this were Chelsea and beau, I don’t think the FR board would be as conciliatory.
