While appearing on Tuesday's edition of "MSNBC News Live" to comment on Caroline Kennedy's bid to be appointed to the United States Senate, Washington Post news editor Vincent Bzdek hyperbolically lauded Caroline's uncle, Senator Ted Kennedy, as "one of the greatest legislators in the history of the country."

"The newspaper editor has also written a biography of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. According to a review in the Washington Post, that book is "a rather admiring picture of its subject."

Absolutely insane!

Bzdek, who has written "The Kennedy Legacy: Jack, Bobby and Ted and a Family Dream Fulfilled," a yet-to-be released book on the Kennedys, saw parallels between uncle and niece.

Kaching.

“, Senator Ted Kennedy, as “one of the greatest legislators in the history of the country.” “

In terms of sheer gross tonnage, he might just have a case, there.....

Yeah, and the president of the NAHB told me with a completely straight face that Bawny Fwank was one of the smartest men in congress.

Ted Kennedy is no Jack Kennedy that is for sure. I bought and watched American Carol last night and was very impressed by JFK’s care about America and if America is messed with than JFK would take care of it. Ted Kennedy is 100 percent opposite.

Hmmm?

Suggestion for WaPo crossword: What is a 10 letter definition for "Absolute Jackass?"

Ted Kennedy or Legislator

Either one works.

I love it how libs rant and rave about the evils of partisanship, yet lionize one of the most bitterly partisan members of Congress.

Go figure.

Bush, Kennedy join forces on immigration.

By Kathy Kiely, USA TODAY
WASHINGTON — As he presses for legacy-building immigration legislation, President Bush finds himself aligned with the same unlikely ally who helped enact his first major domestic initiative. That would be Sen. Edward Kennedy, the Massachusetts Democrat who played a crucial role in crafting and passing the No Child Left Behind Act, the president's massive effort to overhaul education policy.

In a speech to the Associated General Contractors of America on May 2, Bush acknowledged Kennedy as a key player in the talks that are culminating this week, when the Senate opens an immigration debate. "I appreciate the leadership he's taken," Bush said.

Kennedy returned the favor on Saturday, praising Bush's call for a new immigration policy in the president's weekly radio address. "I thank President Bush for addressing the nation on this critical issue and emphasizing the common goals that we share," he said.

As in their earlier partnership, both men are trying to keep the outer ideological edges
