T'was the Freep Before Christmas - Walter Reed Week 192 (19 Dec 2008)
30 Dec 2008 | BufordP

Santa looks in on a car full of kids. Tells them they're all getting coal in their stockings! Sent them all off crying. BAD Santa!

Notice you'll never see Mr Trooprally and Santa together in the same picture?

Lurker Bill

Mr Scrooge!

What's the CO2-friendly equivalent for coal?

MOAB Slogan Contest

Current MOAB has been in use for some time and is starting to show a lot of wear and tear. Time for a new one.

Here's our current MOAB as seen in Freep 193.

The Original MOAB read:

GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS
LIBERATING THE WORLD OF
ONE TYRANT AT A TIME

We could put the current slogan on the new one but we'd rather leave it to you to come up with a new phrase. The troops, their families, and the workers at Walter Reed have seen the existing one for some time. Let's change things up.

Keep just keep in mind that it must fit on the banner and that it should be pro-troop, that is, something that will inspire and encourage the troops, their families, and the workers at Walter Reed.

We would like to unveil the new saying on our 4th Anniversary, which would be Week 208 or April 3. We will announce the winner on that AAR thread. The cutoff for suggestions will be early March (sorry, we don't have an exact date, so just keep 'em coming until we stop posting this in the AARs).

The contest judges will be your Walter Reed AAR writers: BufordP, Kburi, Jimmy Valentines Brother, Tom the Redhunter

The grand prize will be ... bragging rights!

Honor Roll:
Cindy-True-Supporter, Lurker Bill, [Mr] Trooprally (and Santa), PleaDeal, me

If you can't get to D.C. to join us but would like to do something for the wounded, you can find a wealth of ideas by FReepmailing Tom the Redhunter, Cindy-True-Supporter, VAFlagwaver, or PleaDeal.

Come join us every Friday night between the hours of 6:30pm to approx 9:30pm.

Sorry for getting this out so late. More Christmas shopping, family gatherings, out-of-town trips, didn't leave me much time to do the AAR. I had bought myself a new laptop. Then it hosed up on me when I was ready to do the report. Had to dust off the old 9 year old HP laptop again to get it done.

Too late to wish you a Merry Christmas but Happy New Year!

ALL,

THANKS for being there to keep the bad guys away from the main gate and for letting those Wounded Warriors know America remembers them.

For the new MOAB I like the words on the sign that Santa is holding in the last photo:

GOD BLESS OUR MILITARY
AND THEIR FAMILIES

Two lines of letters will leave more white on the banner, making the words easier to read as people pass by.

Happy New Year back at you if your on FR this late on NY’s Eve. Saw your AAR earlier but didn’t have time to post.

Anyway, Thanks for the AAR, another good one to read this week.

FYI - Santa and I were never together because he said the cigar smoke bothered him. But he still gives cigars out on Christmas day.

[Mr] T
