An Israeli … TYRE, Lebanon (AFP) – An Israeli naval vessel collided on Tuesday with a boat carrying activists and medical supplies that was trying to break the blockade of Gaza, forcing it to head to port in Lebanon.
Passengers on board the the 20-metre (66-foot) Dignity said the Israeli patrol boat rammed their vessel, but Israel insisted the two boats collided as the Israeli navy was trying to contact its captain.
"Dignity has entered Lebanese territorial waters and will arrive in Tyre soon," an official in the southern port town told AFP.
No one was injured in the collision between the patrol boat and Dignity -- operated by the Free Gaza Movement -- which was trying to take three tonnes of medical supplies into Gaza on day four of Israeli air strikes on the Palestinian territory.
Israeli foreign ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor told AFP that the naval vessel tried to contact the aid boat by radio for identification and to inform it that it could not enter Gaza.

It was just a PR stunt.

3 metric tonnes = 6600 pounds. Looking at that yacht, I’d have to ask, “Where?”.
They seem to be drafting a bit high on the water for the weight implied (supplies, personnel, news-rats, activists).
It is. Hopefully McKinney and Co. will make another run at it. ...and be met a torpedo.
.. Or they could have radioed the Indian Navy saying a boat was sighted with a Somali woman pirate on board.

You know, if the Israelis didn’t intercept their boat, there’s a good chance that they would have been taken hostage and the Israelis would have to rescue them.
A 66-foot medium displacement boat probably measures to 35 net tons. 3 tons is less than 10% of the below deck volume.
The should have just torpedoed the boat and have been done with it.
That is what I was hoping for. Of course, the media would have justified it by saying that Hamas were desperate and fighting back anyway they could.
I saw La McKinney in full bared-teeth rant on CNN (where else). Her mouth looked like two rows of ivory dominoes as she blamed Da Joos for everything including bad breath in Eskimos.
It went by too quickly to get the popcorn nuked. Will have to maintain popcorn on standby if this clip gets re-aired.

“Threee tons of supplies” refers to their weight, not their volume.
