I think on an earlier thread someone said that there was an exception to the Hawaiian polution law for scattering the ashes of the dead. I don’t know if that’s true, but I suspect it probably is.
* According to the Department of Land and Natural Resources of Hawaii, it's illegal to dump human remains on the shore (NOTE: Bambi dumped the ashes into the wind which blew tham back on shore).
* In accordance with the regulations determined by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, (cremated) remains must be scattered 3 nautical miles off the shore line.
