Defense Minister and Labor chairman Ehud Barak on Monday said that Israel would expand its military operation in the Gaza Strip until all the goals were achieved. He spoke at a special Knesset session attended, among others, by Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni and opposition leader Binyamin Netanyahu.

The man who should be in charge and who would finish the job.
Israel’s conflicts with Hamas & Hezbollah will never be over as long as this Iranian regime exists.
The jihadis only cry and complain when they get their ass kicked. But it’s ok for them to send a few hundred rockets into civilian areas.
Give em hell Israel. Them muslims are getting what they had coming.
” “All out war” is for pussies...
Let’s go for TOTAL WAR “
Anything would be better than the “T-ball war” (nobody wins, nobody loses, nobody keeps score) that’s been foisted on the Israelis by the Condi-Bush foreign policy cabal.....
May God protect Israel and its people and continue on its victorious battle against those who wish Israel harm.
GO ISRAEL!!!!!
fargin cork soccer
So what’s Hezbollah saying? Are they just sitting up in Lebanon minding their own business? I doubt it.
RE: wiggle room
I’m with you, bcsco. If this was the all-out war that Barak claims, infantry would be marching.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all the people of Israel. I hope our government openly supports their efforts to stop the violence that is perpetrated against them on a near daily basis. Enough is enough.
Not only that, but all-out-war would entail dismantling Hamas completely in Gaza. All Barak has mentioned is stopping the rockets. He's talking tough, but he's not stating goals commensurate with his talk.
Yes, I suppose it all depends on each individual's definition of big ol' honkin' war.
My idea of “all-out-war” has been framed by the two books on William Tecumseh Sherman I’ve read recently. That man knew how to wage war and what it takes to bring your enemy to the table. Not that Hamas will be brought to the “table”.
But this is shaping up as another 2006 venture. Go in, mess around a little, then return to base; all for the sake of the ballot box. I’d love to see it happen ala Sherman, but I’m not holding my breath.
I think that what they are doing realistically is stopping aggression for the moment and giving the civilian populace a pause.
They are giving them the choice to oust Hamas on their own and bargain with Israel on better terms but without Hamas as their strong arm. They haven’t stopped humanitarian aid in any form of a blockade. they are targeting military and terrorist targets. But trying to avoid civilian casualties according to the article.
If the civilians revolt against Hamas then there is hope for them, if not I don’t think that Israel will stop this time.
You can bet President Bush told them to go for it with a big thumbs up.
