RNC chairman condemns controversial Obama song (Oh Please! Get a grip RINOs)

The chairman of the Republican National Committee said he was "appalled" by a song called "Barack the Magic Negro" on a CD distributed by one of his political rivals.

"The 2008 election was a wake-up call for Republicans to reach out and bring more people into our party," RNC Chairman Mike Duncan said in a statement reported Saturday afternoon by Politico.

"I am shocked and appalled that anyone would think this is appropriate, as it clearly does not move us in the right direction."

Chip Saltsman sent RNC members the parody CD "We Hate the USA" for Christmas, which includes the controversial tune. He defended his decision Friday, telling CNN the song was clearly intended as a joke.

"I think most people recognize political satire when they see it," Saltsman told CNN. "I think RNC members understand that."

It may be "racist" in your opinion, but not in mine.

Poking fun at individual black leftist Democrat race baiters like Jackson and Sharpton, plus satirizing an LA Times writer (who is almost surely a 'Rat himself), does not make it a racist song.

In fact, I don't even recall Jackson or Sharpton taking exception to it. Jackson and Sharpton have said a lot worse things about whites and Jews as groups.

There is a difference between criticizing individuals for their individual foibles (not racist) and making sweeping generalizations about all people of a racial or ethnic group or using racial or ethnic slurs (racist).

Only a real political neophyte would think this song is a good idea.

The song was never meant for "political" value. It was made for entertainment value and is being marketed as such. It is not produced nor endorsed by any political candidate nor political organization.

Like any mode of entertainment, some people may enjoy it and others may be turned off by it. You are obviously in the latter category. As an American, you don't have to buy it or listen to it. You have that choice. But, on the other hand, Paul Shanklin has every right to produce and market it.

If the Republican party disappeared, conservatives would group together and present conservative values and candidates to the electorate.

I wish I could say this would be true. I don't think this can happen. Everyone would be fighting over who's the "real" conservative, and I don't think we'd all get much farther than that. And even then, one slip by a "conservative" candidate or elected, and the conservatives would be kicking that person to the curb.

When you are a leader and the opposition blasts you and you say nothing, it gets difficult to maintain respect whether you are right or not.

Take FR, for example, (in the micro) where everyone is his own leader, posting his/her thoughts. Sometimes saying nothing in response to a truly absurd post is best. That old axiom about wrestling in the pigs with mud..

In President Bush's case, it was already more than amply clear that no matter what the man said the press was going to go full charge in insulting him. Why waste the time and breath in response?

Not to take anything away from your own view of what constitutes a leader, but to have engaged in the endless negative rennaissancian (sp) "dialoging" the left wishes, meant a great many tasks would go undone. Which is, IMO, precisely why the left engaged in such verbal excess - they wished to freeze the President into being able to do nothing but respond to banalities and inanities.

Now then, the journalists and MSM during the Reagan years certainly were negative, but there were still some brain cells functioning, and a sense of a "even tho I hate Republicans, I still wish the best for our country" sort of thinking. Therefore, engaging in retorts and responses was more productive. The mood, the template, the factors which existed during the Reagan years has not been existent during the Bush years.

I understand your take, why should GW lower himself to those that have BDS and constantly blame him for everything that ever happened or ever will happen.
Problem is democrats/DNC the DBM react just like terrorists do.
If you witness Gaza for instance, they were up to 80 bombings per day until Israel said that's enough. The result is the terrorists stopped their bombings, Israel is still blamed by the dbm/msm but they stood up stood tall said they would not take it anymore and got the respect of most conservatives on earth.
For GW not to react to many of the obvious lies,misstatements and obvious personal attacks on him time after time made him look weak to the terrorist press and they accelerated their attacks to the point where the DNC was able to use those lies, half truths in their adv. campaigns for obama et all.
It was sort of of a catch 22 situation for the President. From a conservative standpoint however, setting the lies from the DBM straight,(pick your issue from WMD on down) might have been a better course of action.

You're right, conservatives are never dependable or loyal to other conservatives or conservative values, nor are they loyal and supportive of those supportive of them, those are RINO traits. Conservatives are noted for putting a knife in the back of other conservatives at every opportunity. If it weren't for RINO's protecting them, there would be no conservatives left in America.

Here are my thoughts on the subject.

Paul Shanklin is a very talented and skilled comedic artist. I've had a chance to listen to some of his stuff and believe me he is very good at his trade.

Nobody forces you to listen to his parodies if you don't like them. Nobody is putting gun to your head and saying you'll isten to this stuff if you don't want to listen to it. There are far more important things to deal with then worrying about people's sensibilities being offended by these parodies.

This concern is something that wreaks of poltical correctness and we all know where that concern led us to didn't we. Over 3000 people lost their lives on 9/11 because of all this hyper-concern about the sensibilities of certain groups.

As to Mike Duncan this is the same fella that wants us to sing kumbya with the Democrats. That's been tried over and over again and again and look where it's got us.

Sorry, but whether you like me saying it or not Obama IS NOT MY PRESIDENT!!!!!! I'm not interested in standing behind him and supporting his plans to turn America into another Zimbabwe. What I want is to see Obama and the Democrat party put out of business once and for all.

And, that also includes the RINO's like Duncan that got us into this mess in the first place. I have no interest in this "big tent" B.S. and C.F. That nonsense just don't work with me whatsoever.

Either we throw the RINO's out and work toghether to put Obama and the Dems out of business or we all hang toghether. It's as simple as that.

Because it's not about Bush, it's about the fact that the truth will reveal a substantial national security danger to AMERICA, not Bush. Conservatives need the truth out to protect the nation, the perception of Bush being "above the need of answering irritating critics" is unimportant compared to defending the nation.

Bush has failed at defending the nation (or conservatives) against PROPAGANDA attacks, while succeeding in defense of violent attacks.

Unfortunately, we must succeed in defending against both to survive. If one remembers that Bush is not a conservative, one is not surprised at his failure.

I agree that we should throw RINO’s out of our party. I live in the Chicago area, which has many RINO’s. My congressman is Mark Kirk, a Republican who is pro-choice, pro-gun control, pro-gay marriage, pro-spending increases, pro-illegal alien, and anti-Iraq surge. I emailed him, four times, within the past two years, and I asked why he’s a Republican. I didn’t receive a response, so I emailed four of his aides and asked them why he’s a Republican.
