Police say one of two young boys beaten severely in an attack in a Phoenix park has died.
Phoenix police Sgt. Tommy Thompson says 7-year-old Jesse Ramirez died early Friday of his injuries. .. His cousin, 10-year-old Edwin Pellecier, remains in critical condition at a local hospital.
Police arrested 36-year-old Jose Sauceda Gallegos within hours of the attack. Thompson says additional charges will be added to the child abuse and dangerous crimes against children charges he faces. ...

“Schizophrenic - but he had the presence of mind to clean himself up - with bleach - after the attack.”
Exactly. A lot of psychiatric terms are thrown around when ‘criminal’ is the only correct one.
That popped out to me also. Has he really been diagnosed as schizophrenic or does the relative just think he is crazy? Needless to say, there is a difference.
It does sound like he knows right from wrong.
Those poor kids. Once again the system failed them.
“Part of the story is missing. Was this piece of garbage who smashed these two children an ILLEGAL ALIEN who never should have been here in the first place? If so, will the government officials who acted to keep him here, be put in the dock along with him?”
You are looking into the future, when Jesus returns, eliminates His enemies, and sets up perfect justice. Yes, then child molesters, beaters and killers and those who enable them will be appropriately dealt with, as the conscience and sense of justice, that the same Creator has put in our heats, dictates.
RIP.
It certainly isn’t. Most of the Phoenix news blogs on this story are pretty much very angry at our loose mental health situation, people from this neighborhood knew this guy was unstable.
If you read the entire story on this guy you would know he is a schizophrenic and had been locked up until very recently for imagining he had bludgeoned his own boys who are the same age as the two boys he did kill; lucky for his own sons they live in Colorado with their mother, unlucky for the two cousins they were the same age and lived in the neighborhood... this is a huge failure of our mental health system here.
IMO these people should be warehoused for the public’s own good. The doctor I work for has several schizophrenic patients and they are like yo-yo’s.
That's a terrible thing to suggest, IMO. For if true, there is no such thing as a loving God.

I am as anti-illegals as anyone and Arizona has some of the toughest laws to stop them here, we don't do ourselves any favors by assuming every crime done by someone with a Mexican surname is an illegal.... this was a failure of the AZ mental health system.
Theodicy tries to explain the existence of evil with the argument for free will but maybe that negates any argument that God is generally watching over us and guiding our lives.
It would appear that life is nothing but a battle between the strong and the defenseless alongside a difficult struggle to find faith in the inscrutable. If any God exists, he isn’t rewarding us here. This place is mostly for darkness and horror, a trial for the faithful and a prelude to the hell awaiting men like these.
there is a part of me that agrees with you and a part that on occasion sees some light
There was no premise in the posting the article. I considered it news.
You’re correct, it was post number 2 — which you did not make — that got it off track.
That’s the craziest thing I’ve ever read on FreeRepublic, and I’ve read a lot of crazy stuff here. Get a grip!
