Employees of McClatchy publishing in Iraq were in an unually good mood recently. The occasion was the aftermath of the Iraqi journalist who tossed his shoes at President Bush at a press conference in Baghdad as you can see in these quotes from Inside Iraq, a blog for McClatchy journalists working in that country:
Some of the guys were happy and they were talking about the bravery of the journalist who threw his shoes at the American president. When I tried to explain my opinion, I was trying to tell the guys that I don't agree with the way the journalist behaved, but I was attacked by them. One of them said "come on Laith, Bush destroyed Iraq". Another said "he deserves more" while a third one said "he is an occupier." I tried to tell to tell they guys that this is an inslut for Maliki.
The "Shoe heard round the world" was an important symbolic event. I felt his action was appropriate and restrained considering the circumstances.
I applauded this act. I don't care that it is rude. Why are we concerned about etiquette when a country was destroyed? Did Bush ever apologize to the Iraqis for the hundreds of thousands of dead? Bush is an occupier, a clown pretending to be a hero, so enclosed in his own little self-certain world he probably was surprised an Iraqi could be that angry. I am not surprised. I am only surprised such a thing did not happen earlier.

I was given SEVERAL “dokkie baks” of prime rib from those Japanese tourists in L.A.. Still waiting for my Kobe beef “dokkie bak.”
Yes, but the other comments were listed as if they were all part of the same post. MSM-style misleading. :-(
Those comments from McClatchy employee "Laith" are pretty damning in themselves. Still unknown if other comments were from McClatchy folks.
If McClatchy’s stock is down that much, perhaps they will soon be out of business. Then I will cheer.
I love that they saw the story and missed the point.

A High of .83 and a low of .73. WOO HOO - Big doings for McClatchy!
Does that mean I can toss shoes at journalists and say it’s a matter of free speech?
McClatchyites . . . better join the human race
MSM is dead in our home and my company. They are liars. They can’t be trusted . Everything one see’s hears or reads these days they have to double check and research in depth to get the facts. At a great cost to my personal time and income in some arenas. That was what journalism promised me for the price of my newspaper or periodical etc .....truth. The papers each have an opinion page yet the entire paper is filled with just that .....opinion versus simple facts so the reader can determine what happened. No more what where when why etc just propaganda from presstitutes paid by polidiots.
Thus we take extra effort to not allow our dollars, be they company funds or personal funds, to fall in the hands of such seditious lying trash. Internet, AM radio and torrents are sources of free news and reads. Gutenberg project has tons of free e-books on all manner of subjects be they fiction or non fiction , school books etc .......
We can kill this form of MSM by withholding what they seek .....cash ! As well write “E” & Snail Mail to the advertisers and tell em the rag they advertise their product in is dishonest and lies so I can’t trust that their product is not a sham as well.....
Vote with your dollars. Know where every dollar you spend winds up and make every attempt to keep it from the socialist SOB’s ! Not always possible yet we try. If everyone just tried it would kill their cash cow IMO.
That is just what we do .......does it work ? Who knows, but I don’t support them with my money if I can help it.
Stay safe PJ, Hope you had a peaceful and restful Christmas....BTW did ya get rid of that spyware ?
These BDS sufferers may be clinically insane. They’re certainly not worthy of holding a position in the media that requires any objectivity, as indicated by their infantile glee at an out of control reporter assaulting the US president.
Very well put.
Many have. But of course it does not fit the template of the MSM, so it gets little coverage. An example is the work of the Iraqi sculpture Kalat.
The MSM instead celebrates the shoe throwing idiot because he hates the U.S. and what it represents almost as much as they do.
The important lessons to learn from the story of the show thrower is that we have utterly defeated our enemies and now they are reduced to throwing shoes at us, that is all what they can do. The fool shoe thrower took full advantage of the freedom and democracy we brought to Iraq when we liberated them from Saddam. He knows that his family will be safe and not wiped out from existence unlike what Saddam used to do when he did wipe out the extended family of anyone who said a single bad word against him let alone throw a shoe at him and thus end up killing hundred of thousands of Iraqis including some of the show throwers family.
McClatchy is an anti-American propaganda organ. To a degree so is the Associated Press. these people will gleefully report anything that is detrimental to America. They are the scum of the earth.
every death for the past 10,000 years is attributable to Bush it seems.
Great news BUMP!
I hope McClatchy dies. Slow, fast, I don’t care. I just want the thing dead and I want everybody who works for McClatchy to lose their homes.
Nonetheless, the jounalism community believes it.
Which really says a great deal about the size of their mental faculties, as opposed to the size of their political agenda.
Feet first in the woodchipper? or just a little slapping around?
