From the article:

“Olmert told Al Arabiya television, an Arab broadcaster widely watched in Gaza: “I didn’t come here to declare war.”

“I think what he means is he won’t hesitate again.”

This time he really means it. Unless he has to wait.

He could always put them on double secret probation.

OK, one more chance...

If they fire another 10,000 rockets, Israel is going to send a stiff protest note...

Double secret probation indeed. If Israel doesn’t want to go the way of the dodo, its inhabitants need to ask themselves WWJsD?

WWJsD = What Would Joseph Stalin Do?

>>>Sounds like he’s hesitating.<<<

What's new? He's had his thumb up his rear since he was a toddler.

This is exactly why Israel took so many losses in the war with Hezbollah in Lebanon 2 years ago.

Come on. What is his problem. So what if people on the other side of your country's border are raining thousands of small rockets trying to kill your citizens. Where is the tolerance? We should urge the Israelis to exercise great restraint.

Exactly. Olmert is giving the intiative to Hamas.

Instead of "if you don't stop raining shells on us we might hit back", why not start dropping bombs all over Gaza and then tell Hamas that if they don't stop their actions, the bombings will continue indefinitely?

Of course, I don't think Hamas will stop while any of them are still living.

They should pick a location that is important to Hamas and level it. Just going after the few that are launching attacks will do little. Hamas will just find more dupes to launch more attacks. I would suggest finding where Hamas stores their money and if it is a tangible target, blow it up. Once the money is gone go for other things that Hamas leaders hold precious.

"Is the spirit of Islam to kill innocent children, to fire rockets at kindergartens and civilians? I don't think that is the spirit of Islam," Olmert said.

Was that a rhetorical question Ehud?

Gaza lacks sufficient sewage treatment capacity. There are some very large cesspools there, held back by some very flimsy dams.

The US once had its own Palestenians, only we called them “Comanches”. Our solution was called “Texas Rangers”.
