To be sure though, Madoff is an embarassment to religious Jews. Any Jew is who so undermines ethical monotheism. But the MSM seldom deliniates the religion of other evil-doers, unless they're supposedly Christian of course.

The American Civil Liberties Union sent out an emergency appeal to card-carrying members and donors this week after realizing it is a victim of Bernard Madoff's self-confessed Ponzi scheme.

Good news, but the ACLU is still allowed to cellect legal fees for its lawsuits against taxpayers - legal fees that they have no obligation to pay in the event they lose.

I strongly suspect that the ACLU would be assaulting Judaism with equal ferocity if it were the locus of pro-life activism such as Christians are as a group (although sadly many that call themselves Christian are pro-abortion). Being totally secular, socialist/communist provides all the intellectual/ideological basis needed for whatever it is that the ACLU seems intent on achieving.
