If there is anyone out there who still doubts US president-elect Barack Obama's roots, who still wonders if his father was a Kenyan, still questions his love for the land of his ancestors, January 20 will be the answer.
For at that defining moment, after Mr Obama takes the oath office to lead the world superpower, Kenyan musicians will be there to entertain him.
And Kenyans will be the most beholden since the new US President has roots at Kogelo in Nyanza - now a vibrant village that has been awakened from slumber by the Obama magic.
Kenya's Obama fans will be well represented. The trail blazing Boys Choir of Kenya, a group of 26 young men, will perform for Mr Obama and his guests in Washington DC during the inauguration.
They will present the song America the Beautiful a US national song and Jambo Bwana, which will be performed in choral rendition. Other songs will include a Giriama celebration folk song and Kalenjin heroes welcoming song.
Others who are likely to perform on the world stage are Tonny Nyadundo with Ohangla Luo music, Carol Nderitu with poetry and comedian Daniel Ndambuki.
The choir, which has travelled to the USA for performances three times this year, will hold Kenya's flag high during the event.

A black-tie dinner and ball are scheduled to take place on the night of the inauguration at posh Marriott Gateway Hotel.
It is said to be a pan-African gala in honour of the first US president of African descent.
Kenya’s ambassador in Washington Peter Ogego said he hopes the new president and the First Lady will include the event in their round of inaugural balls.
Invitations are also being sent to incoming Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and UN ambassador Susan Rice, Mr Ogego added.
Mr Odinga is expected to attend both of the Kenya-sponsored inauguration celebrations.
The National Democratic Institute, a non-governmental democracy-promotion group, has invited him to take part in the Martin Luther King Jnr Day celebrations in Washington on January 18.
On the inauguration day, the Kenya mission will hold a reception at Washington Plaza Hotel near the route of the parade leading to President Obama’s swearing in on the steps of the US Capitol.
Jeez he’s just rubbing it in now. What an embarrassment.
I wonder — can he be president of Kenya and the US at the same time?
Maybe Kenya can be our 52nd state...
Obama unifying the world. :(
That’s the signpost up ahead your next stop, the Twilight Zone. ...
“The choir... will hold Kenya’s flag high during the event.”
... the event of inauguration of the President of the UNITED STATES — with the Kenyan flag held high.
Tell the boys from Kenya to dress warm, many of us have ordered subzero temperatures for zero’s global warming speech during the inaguration.
I wonder if they need antifreeze for the Kenyan flag?
Naw... the flags are prolly made in China!
But, will Americans?
Mr Odinga is expected to attend both of the Kenya-sponsored inauguration celebrations.
great...another murderer - do we have to extend a visa to this sob? seriously?
Odinga is Obama’s cousin and good friend. Obama campaigned for Odinga in Kenya, while he was a sitting US Senator.
Yes. Odd that the media didn’t seem to know any of this.

“Yes. Odd that the media didn’t seem to know any of this.”
Oh, the media knows all this and more. But sadly, they are no longer in the business or reporting truth, they are in the business of influence and image making — and they succeeded in presenting Obama to us as something he is not, and got him elected.
The MSM didn’t pick up any of these stories, they were reported in the African press.
Including not reporting this one:
Kenya: Govt Gags Obama Family
http://allafrica.com/stories/200812110079.html
Nairobi â The government has blocked Kenyan members of President-elect Barrack Obama’s extended family from talking to the media.
Family members will have to ask permission from government before issuing making any statement concerning Obama.
The government will also vet all those seeking information about the family.
“We are doing this because we want to ensure better flow of information.
“Today let us be happy — there are no problems”
That seems to be Obama’s platform.
I predict there will be an asterisk next to 0bama’s name in the history books
How many of these Kenyans are going to jump ship and join Aunt Zaituni or end up being towel boys and butlers in the White House?
Remind them to bring his birth certificate.
