President George W. Bush is leaving with one of the lowest approval ratings in the history of numbers. During his final months on the job, the controversial commander-in-chief has given several interviews that have revealed how he views his legacy. Here are some highlights...

Soul not for sale One of the president's most interesting sound bites came during his interview with FOX News. He said: "I didn't compromise my soul to be a popular guy." The quote is an acknowledgment that the president is well aware that he's about as popular as taxes and chicken pox. Bush went on to say that he would have liked to have been more popular, but he's proud that he didn't sacrifice his integrity. And that includes Detroit's bailout

What Bush regrets During a rather candid interview several weeks ago, folks heard something truly surprising from the president—an admission that he was wrong. Bush said that his "biggest regret" was that he and his team got the intelligence wrong in Iraq.

What he'll be thinking on his last day Anyone who has ever changed jobs knows that the mix of emotions can be quite strong. It's no different for presidents. Chief among Bush's thoughts before entering what he jokingly referred to as "forced retirement" will be well wishes for President-elect Barack Obama. Said Mr. Bush: "I'll be wishing President-elect Obama all the best, genuinely be wishing him all the best."

>> HECK no, I didn’t vote for that socialist Obama. I voted for Sarah Palin.

Then you must have voted for McCain as President. You had no choice to select one without the other. Are we the “WORST VOTERS EVER”?

I don’t think you’re a liberal twit — I share your disappointments and disbelief.

Speaking of Carter here’s an article comparing Ford-Carter to GWB-Obama transition and says to buy gold and commotites like oil.

http://www.moneymatters101.com/books/moves.asp

Similar to Gerald Ford, John McCain had one challenger in particular whose message of limited government and sound money resonated with a small but organized minority. I am referring to Congressman Ron Paul, who, despite being marginalized by his other opponents and the mainstream media, struck a chord unheard elsewhere in modern politics, and managed to raise more money than any of the mainstream Republican alternatives.

The 2008 election features two candidates likely to make the current problems worse. Ironically, Barack Obama, whose policies would likely prove even more disastrous than McCain’s, probably represents the lesser of the two evils. This is because Obama is perceived to be the candidate of big government, while McCain has wrapped himself in the false trappings of small government.

In the unlikely event McCain wins, he will be the Herbert Hoover of the modern era, completely discrediting capitalism in the minds of the electorate and setting the stage for a disastrous ideological counterreaction in the election that follows.

If Obama wins, however, while the economy will fare even worse, it will at least be clear that big government is to blame. By the end of Obama’s term, the voters will have had such a bellyful of noxious government solutions that the mere thought of any more will put them squarely at the wheel of the porcelain bus. In such an environment, a Ron Paul type of Republican, dismissed as unelectable à la Ronald Reagan in 1976, may actually be in a position to capture the White House in 2012 and finish the job Ronald Reagan started.

QUESTION: Can ANYONE explain this relationship??:
One Party. Two Labels. ;)

Rush coined it perfectly: Washingtonians.

Sorry to be repetitious, but IMO, Washingtonians are the forbears of the Morlocks. Barack is the new Uber-Morlock.

well I see there are no replies to your very good post....I’ll say it again whether these people are on the right or on the left doesnt matter ,they are seriously disturbed.

One question I have for them is about Dick Cheney ...do they consider him a leftist RINO? an idiot ? was he asleep at the switch for 8 years allowing GW to destroy the GOP and the nation ?

Again ...the sickness around here is simply amazing.

One wonders what the perceptions of Bush's two terms would be in honest reflection if the fifth column enemy of We The People--euphemistically called 'the press'--had not spent their entire eight years insulting, degrading, demeaning, and lying about President Bush and the several strategic decisions he's made?

Oh, to be sure, the leftist sycophancy would still spittle the hate and insults, but if the enemedia had not programmed the stupid populace to believer their lies so as to promote the political capital of the deeper enemies of the Republic, the democrats, what would honest discussion of Bush's amazing two terms sound like?

With the final slip into democrat oligarchy through the Obama administration, the writing of History will be disgusting to witness. We who can had better remember for those few who may want to know the actual history rather than the fantasies of deranged leftist sycophants of societal engineering.

And the 'liebertarians' are nearly as disgusting as the democrats since they are more than happy to deceive in order to try and up their meager numbers at the ballot box. The real enemy of the Republic has a useful idiot ally in these voices.

Actually, I wouldn’t rank GWB Da Best. But because of how he handled 9/11 and the Islamist threat, I think he’s pretty high up there.

"I didn't compromise my soul to be a popular guy."

After reading this, my first thought was, what the h*ll does this mean?

The reality is, it means absolutely nothing...It's mumbo jumbo.

Get real, the RNC has been destroying itself for years now.

Yeah. I forget the name of that charismatic, likeable, incorruptable doctrinaire conservative that the evil schemer Bush kept us from voting for in 2000.

Oh, that's right, it was McCain.

And make no mistake about it, a large part of the Bush-bashing that has been and will be is designed to shift focus from Jimmy Carter as THE worst president in US history.

lol...No one gives a sh*t about Carter...Bush got Bashed because that's what happens when ya piss people off and do really stupid things.

"The Bush-bots here will say GWB is JUST being responsible by killing capitalism with bailouts, but when Obama finishes the job it will be Marxism"

Beautiful point. We gots to rationalize whatever he does cause he's "ours" right? A democrat President who did exactly as Bush has done would be universally loathed here. And his record would be defended by the ignorant DUmmies and KOSbots who hate Bush!!

That’s a minimum job requirement for a President. Fulfilling his most basic duty doesn’t make him a good President worth our support. Should spouses that don’t cheat be given medals for it?

My fear is that, if the people are so dumbed-down and greedy that they voted for Obammie the Commie in the first place, after 4 years of disastrous policies, they'll believe the lie they will be fed that it only goes to prove that they need even bigger government, more regulation of ‘evil capitalism,’ and more socialism. Also, if you throw amnesty into the mix, it won't matter too much how badly Hussein's Marxist policies fail. They'll vote Dem anyway.

Uh, you're wrong. It would be one thing to criticize him. The left is obviously trying to shift superlatives to Obammie the Commie's ideological predecessor, Jimmy Carter. And they are trying to shift superlatives (worst president, etc.) to take people's minds off the Obama-Carter link.

Carter is the worst president in US history because he was an anti-American communist.

"What I meant is that domestic security against jihadists is about the ONLY good thing he’s done."

We already had an alphabet soup's worth of agencies that could have / should have taken on the job.

NSA, CIA, FBI to name a few.

Instead the solution this globalist comes up with is to create yet another federal monstrosity
that this nation will be saddled with forevermore.

It's a solution I would expect from a socialist democrat.
Not to mention the potential abuse of this shadow agency in the hands of an evil president.

Sorry, I don't see the federal government as my friend.
