I don't believe anything I read about Obama’s appointments until I see him on TeeVee announcing it behind his Office of the President-Elect podium.

Now THAT is funny.

I like the Yahoo title better: “Obama picks climate change experts for key science posts”

Lubchenco as head of NOAA is a farce. She has not been involved in science for YEARS. Her recent resume is entirely feel-good quasi-sociology bullshit. I’ll admit that Obama made some relatively decent choices in other realms (Volcker, etc), but on science (Holdren, Lubchenco), he proves to be essentially illiterate. His picks may be known in Washington, but they made their names entirely as salespeople, not as scientists.

This is a gigantic problem. They’re talking about spending gigantic sums of money to fix a problem which does not exist.

Never heard of them, and no one will ever know the difference, I suspect.

Quite right. Alice Through the Looking Glass anyone!

And it's going to be our money and our jobs that go through it.

After the majority of people and the majority of businesses are forced by taxes, by new rules, and by new regulations to pay for something that really doesn’t exist, then everybody paying attention will really know the difference!

Holdren and his colleague and ideological soulmate Paul R. Ehrlich, the widely derided and demonstrably wrong predictor of population explosion and worldwide famine, famously lost a bet to Julian Simon. In 1980 Ehrlich and Holdren wagered $1000 that five commodities would be scarcer and more expensive in ten years. Each commodity proceeded to incease in abundance and drop in price.

Holdren paid up in 1990.

I can see how this will impact (stall) every facet of our economy. But obama promised us our fuel prices would soar when his new restrictions are in place - so, he’s obviously planning to keep his pledge.

I think we may all come to know the difference they could make. More information here: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2151891/posts

Lubchenco is, as you noticed, a "political scientist" who hasn't been involved in the real stuff for a long time.

However, if you try to match her name up with ELF, a well-known terrorist group, you don't get any real hits.

I think that's how she got the appointment ~ simply one of a handful of "political scientists" who DOESN'T show up when you look for ELF.

That's how decrepit the Leftwingtards in science have become. Just too many terrorists in there for comfort, and these guys are the real thing ~ when they burn stuff down they mean to kill people ~ not at all like that woose Billy Ayers, the Mad Bomber.
