Keeping low to avoid being shot, a sailor lights a Molotov cocktail before throwing it at Somali pirates trying to board his ship.

He and his crewmates were expecting trouble and had prepared dozens of the makeshift grenades to repel an invasion.

Their cargo vessel was attacked in the Gulf of Aden by pirates using speedboats and armed with heavy machine guns and rocket launchers.

“The Nation that makes a great distinction between its scholars and its warriors will have its thinking done by cowards and its fighting done by fools.” — Thucydides

Thucydides was HALF right. The fighting is still done by actual warriors—who are at least as intelligent as the so-called scholars they defend. I wonder just how close are tied this maritime group and the UN. Birds of a feather.

No, because the pic and story (you posted) are known to be, and presented as a re-enactment.

This story with pictures was presented as factual ... and I don’t buy it.

I wonder if the maritime laws you reference prohibit the use of directed sound “weapons” as used by the cruise ship some months ago to combat the pirates. The cruise ship company kept this thing a secret but it worked, and they were able to just steam away after taking an rpg round and .30 shots.

They are VERY influential.

Also, most countries prohibit the entrance of armed ships into civilian ports.
