Thanks for the ping. Molecular biology was relatively primitive when I was an undergraduate at UCSD (74-76). Getting a protein structure in that kind of detail meant months or years waiting for it to crystallize and many more months analyzing the x-ray crystallography to discern the structure. Even then, it was a static analysis. Structure changes with temperature, pH and polarity of the medium.
