Very cool ... I shall proudly FREEP that day! (That counts as service, right?) Oh, and packing for Maui.

“National Reloading Day”... - castlebrew

It's been National Reloading Day at my house ever since November 4th.

Just picked up 300 pounds of used wheel weights from my local tire shop, and a 55 gallon drum of 9mm, .40S&W, .38 Special, .45ACP, and 5.56 NATO brass from a police department range. (Sorting all the brass is the fun part - NOT!)

Plenty of .44 Special and .44 Mag brass already on hand. Same with 7.62 Match. Powder and primers ready to go... Jacketed bullets on the shelf for rounds that require them. Don't have enough boxes to store ammo in, so I'm wrapping a counted lot in wax paper and then vacuum sealing it in plastic.

The reloading press is a big 40 year old, 38 pound (without dies) co-axial monster... I've never gotten a blister from reloading until just recently!

Rageards,
Raven6

Hopefully, I’ll be ending a nice 4 day weekend down at the coast that day. I’ll be sure to wave at anyone I see “serving”.

On Monday, January 19th, Obama wants us to take a day off from work to volunteer in some community effort? That is clearly the most stupid idea he has come up with. More stupid than the tire pressure nonsense.

I do enough for society already. However, I would like to see some of the drones who live on public largesse go out and do some public service.

Hum...I’ll be on a Cruise. I guess I’ll have to miss this one. I can’t come up with any thing I can do to help him out there. Oh, I can ask to swab the decks!

The implementing of these service days will cost more than the benefits received. What is one going to do in one day? Pick up garbage? Who is going to drive all the millions of people out to the places needing that great social service?

This reminds me of the Communist Chinese Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution launched by Mao Zedong. A part of that revolution was the “Down to the Countryside Movement.” Artists, doctors, technical and scientific workers, and all kinds of educated people were called upon to go among the workers and peasants: “to apply their skills to the needs of society, to share the lives of the laboring people, to exchange knowledge, and to learn from the basic people.” Great numbers of youth and professionals answered Mao's call to “serve the people” and go to the countryside.

This was an exercise in collectivism and egalitarianism. It was an effort of redistribution where the urban intellectual could learn the culture of the farmer and the country dweller and the country dweller would learn the urban culture. All this did was disrupt lives, careers and the education system. It was a vehicle to carry forward the socialist revolution towards communism: the elimination of classes. Children and teenagers were organized in “Red Guard” groups, and told to annihilate anything “traditional,” “luxurious,” or “revisionist.” As
Solzhenitsyn puts it:

"To do evil a human being must first of all believe that what he's doing is good... Ideology - that is what gives evildoing its long-sought justification and gives the evildoer the necessary steadfastness and determination..."

Jan. 19th? That’s a shame. That’s the day we take pictures of famous communists to the gun range for a little fun. Family tradition. Can’t break it.

Yes, my national day of service will consist of massing all my old shoes, taking them to Code Stink press conferences, and tossing them at the assembled idiots.

When I read the title of the thread I thought it was payback to the trial lawyers for contributing heavily to his election campaign.

Sue Me, Sue You Blues ~ George Harrison:

You serve me
And I’ll serve you
Swing your partners, all get screwed
Bring your lawyer
And I’ll bring mine
Get together, and we could have
a bad time

It’s affidavit swearing time
Sign it on the dotted line
Hold your Bible in your hand
Now all that’s left is to
Find yourself a new band . . .

We’re gonna play the sue me, sue
you blues
We’re gonna play the sue me, sue
you blues

Hold the block on money flow
Move it into joint escrow
Court receiver, laughs, and thrills
But in the end we just pay those
lawyers their bills

When you serve me
And I serve you
Swing your partners, all get screwed
Bring your lawyer
And I’ll bring mine
Get together, and we could have
a bad time

We’re gonna play the sue me, sue
you blues

I’m tired of playing the
Sue Me, Sue You Blues

I suggest all us submit editorials to the MSM and blogs that day discussing our Constitutional Rights. Yes indeed, a National Day of Service re-educating the American public about our Constitution.

Count on me to sit on my butt and FReep all day.

Same here! I've been dragging my ass out of bed at 4:30 am, 5 days a week for the last 25 years. I worked my way through college and worked two jobs to buy my house.

Screw you Obama - I'm going to be EXTRA lazy on MLK day! I might even wear my PJs all day (something I never do so it sound fun!)

Sounds great. Get the Brasso out and polish a box of ammo, re-read “Secret State” and practice open sights at the range.
