ORLANDO, Fla. - The state confirmed Wednesday that clothing was also found in the trash bag full of a child's remains discovered near the Anthony home.
The remains were found last Thursday just blocks away from the home of Caylee Anthony, who was first reported missing five months ago.
Her mother, Casey Anthony, has been jailed on a first-degree murder charge.
The clothing discovery is the strongest sign yet that the state believes the remains belong to Caylee, reported WESH 2's Bob Kealing.
Authorities said they're uncovering new evidence almost every day.
Sources said they believe the victim was dumped soon after the slaying.
Prosecutors visited the crime scene along Suburban Drive on Wednesday. They learned that crime scene investigators and FBI forensics experts wouldn't be done processing the area until at least Thursday.
Teams carrying machetes continued cutting into the wooded area, and they expanded the search area from a half acre to an acre.
Investigators said the crime scene continues to give up more and more clues. Crime scene investigator technicians hope to piece together not only who the child was, but how the child died, and perhaps when the remains were dumped there in a plastic bag.
Two prosecutors met with investigators on Wednesday morning for a progress report on the search effort.
A short news conference was held to announce the search would stretch into an eighth day.
"We expected that it might have been late this afternoon that this scene might have been able to be cleared, but as we continue to discover items at the scene, we'll continue to hold the scene irregardless of identification. The medical examiner will make that determination as to when it is proper to make a proper announcement regarding identification," Orange County Sheriff's Office Capt. Angelo Nieves said.

From the article:
“Sources said they believe the victim was dumped soon after the slaying.”
Doesn’t that contradict the early statements about the “smell of death” in the car?
Agreed TexKat - I still think she took the kid, chloroformed her so she could party that night and put the duct tape over her mouth in case she woke up so she wouldn’t be able to make noise. The kid died and Casey left her in the car for a few days until she could figure out how to dispose of her.
Not really. “Soon” is relative. A body will start to smell in a Florida heat within a day or so............
What about the Cloroform?
That’s one of the theories. One report from the neighbors said that they heard a screaming argument from the Anthony’s house within a day or two of the last sighting of Caylee.
poor baby, what a mess her family is! and she paid for it.
Ok, this is gonna sound nasty...
The only reasons why I can think duct tape may be appied to the mouth/face after death...
...to cover the face. Often done so the perp doesn’t have to look at the face of the victim they know.
...to prevent body fluids from escaping from the ears, nose, mouth, eyes.
but just guessing.
Chutzpah.
Every time I see the video of Cayle singing the song Don't Take My Sunshine Away that is played on Nancy Grace, makes me wish that they could play this video over and over and over again to Casey in her jail cell on a daily basis.

Do you recall ever reading here where someone said they questioned if that video was from this past Father's Day? The reason the poster questioned was because Caylee looked and sounded more like a two year old rather than a child about to turn three. I know my own daughter spoke much more clearly at three than Caylee did. I think this was posted early in the investigation when some thought Cindy was purposely causing the date Caylee went missing to be muddled. If you recall, she originally used the date of around June 9th - only later to say the 16th after this video surfaced.
You know, I didn’t think of it being any earlier video of Caylee...
Also, her parents have asked for immunity and why would they do that if they hadn’t mislead the police...
I wouldn’t be surprised if her brother helped her by covering up for her...remembering he had to be subpoenaed for a dna test...
I know kids develop at varying rates - I was just repeating what someone else had mentioned but she is very babyish for a toddler turning three in less than two months in that video. I wonder how long Cindy’s Dad has been in that nursing home?
I have been speculating that Casey accidentally killed Caylee, after fighting with her mother over custody of the child. I think that the grandmother could have been demanding that Casey not take Caylee to the new boyfriend’s house to live. I think that she was trying to use the child as leverage to force Casey to return home, telling her that she wouldn’t babysit for Caylee while Casey was out partying and staying overnight at her boyfriend’s house. So... Casey figures out that she can use chloroform to put the baby to sleep and hide her in the trunk of the car, while she is partying. Then she wouldn’t need her mother to babysit.
Maybe the chloroform wasn’t even what killed the baby, maybe it was carbon monoxide. Either way, it didn’t work out so well.
It appears that Cayle is wearing the same top.
That particular picture is the picture that Cindy used to set the timeline for the last time she saw Cayle. The picture was supposedly taken on June 9th.
Did you just hear the press conference. The utility guy that found the bag with the skull had already phoned in the same location back in August. As well as his sister, I believe. August 11, 12, 13.
Also reported on Greta last night there was no water in that area some time period in August.
I believe that’s probably what happened. Casey had a weird relationship with her mother and I don’t believe she could bring herself to admit to her mom what happened.
actually, that is very well thought out. but what do you suppose the
computer scanned for neckbreaking was about? unless that was after
the child died and she wanted to cover up. make it look like a murder.
too bad patsey ramsey wasn’t sround to give her tips. (I know, many people
think patsey was cleared but i am not on that camp.)
It takes a while to grow the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) gels that give the gene information. That’s one reason these things tend to be drawn out. However, I think it takes 3-5 days, and then they have to analyze it, so for a high profile case like this I can’t see why it takes three weeks. One week should be plenty. Still, it’s very important. They don’t want to get it wrong.
If you watch Dexter, you know the thought process is something like, geez they found my dead daughter’s body and I don’t feel a thing. Oh-oh, they’ll expect me to grieve, I have to grieve or they’ll be suspicious. How exactly does one go about grieving?
