Generally it’s the Democrat mentality that gets dogs in trouble.
Very handsome boy!
Agreed!
True. This might be more like a puppy mill.
If you do any of the above, Pennsylvania regards you as a kennel.
Its probably similar in Delaware [...]
Not sure why that's relevant. This place is in Pennsylvania.
In any case, this kennel has a class 5 license, so it's not a small operation (though I think the Philly Inquirer was wrong about it being the biggest type...isn't there also a class 6 license?)
My guess is that the local dog law officer took it upon himself to pull a snap inspection on the breeder because he read the name in the paper. They do 1 scheduled & at least 1 unscheduled inspection per year here in PA.
Since there wasn't any second inspection yet, and only three weeks (including Christmas week) left in the year, it's not much of a surprise, is it?
Maybe when it gets bigger it will eat the hypo-allergenic girlie-man dog Obama is likely to buy.
I had totally missed that this was a PA kennel. I’m not sure that there’s anything bigger than a Class 5 in PA. Either way, that is a big operation.
Rendell has been trying to get tough with the larger PA breeding kennels. Biden’s move here should be slightly embarrasing in that regard — course it won’t be covered that way.
The dog law officers in counties neighboring Lancaster County have been pulling double-duty, inspecting a portion of Lancaster’s kennels as well as their own. Not surprising if they are backed-up & running out of year.
Looking at the picture I was thinking, “man, that’s one huge Boykin”, then I read the description of your lab! LOL!
Neighbor of mine was looking for a younger companion for his Brittany Spaniel. Ended up getting a female Boykin that looks just like yours. Big yellow eyes! Most striking dog you’ve ever seen. She just wears her big brother out.
They're soft and hardheaded at the same time, though, so somewhat difficult to train. My little Choc may have been a Boykin in another life, she is one of the softest Labs I've ever dealt with, but hardheaded at the same time.
Her baby sister the field-bred Black Lab is just hardheaded. VERY hardheaded.
