RALEIGH, N.C. — Members of the North Carolina electoral college are set to cast their ballots for the next President and Vice President of the United States.

North Carolina Secretary of State Elaine Marshall will convene the electors at noon on Monday in the Capitol Building's Old Hall of the House of Representatives in Raleigh.

Last month's popular vote determined that electors nominated by the state Democratic Party will cast the official ballots for the state.

North Carolina's 15 electors will cast their ballots and prepare certificates of vote for president and vice president.

President-elect Obama won North Carolina by 14,177 votes, out of more than 4.3 million cast.

President-elect Obama won North Carolina by 14,177 votes,

The only reason Obama won NC was that ACORN and other operatives were planted at college campuses getting college votes by registering and voting in the same moment. WHAT HAPPENED to the rules that you have to register a certain amount of days prior to vote?As well as God knows how many voted for a dollar or smokes numerous times.Newspaper ads for jobs with ACORN and moveon.org/ACORN were placed as ACTIVISM for Obama.Obama won because the vote was pimped.

I knew we would become a much harder state to hold red going forward because of the demographic shifts in the state and knew Obama had a solid shot (and was attacked on here for saying so) but I was still surprised to see us flip. A year ago i’d have said it would be impossible. And yet we lost a senate seat in a spanking, lost the govenors race to an incompetent, and lost the presidency. Can’t call us a red state anymore.

2012 and forward will be tough. The lib-heavy Triangle area is exploding in population and the latino population is exploding (10-12 years and a lot will be citizens). Neither change bodes well for us.

Is it just me or were these stories around in 2004 and 200 too?

I just don’t recall that each burp and burble of the NC electors was so extensively covered.
