Somebody commented that there are a lot of Russian immigrants there. The guy looks like he could be Russian. They’re a big problem in a lot of places - many of them are involved in mob activities or even plain old small-scale crime, but with a vicious and ruthless twist.

I know a policeman who worked in Estacada, a mountain community about 1 hour from Portland in the Cascades, near Mt. Hood. He loved his job for years, but eventually quit as he said it was too dangerous investigating out in the boonies, parks and campgrounds. There is apparently a lot of illegal dope growing and meth manufacture and he said if he came upon Russians they would simply kill and bury him out there.
He transferred back into the city for safety. Weird, eh?
Yes, a large group of Russian Orthodox outside Woodburn. They come down to the WalMart in Salem to shop. Don’t know exactly where they are.
