And here it is, via the AP. Well, it's more of an editorial than a news report (Thank you Jennifer Loven):

BAGRAM AIR BASE, Afghanistan (AP) — President George W. Bush got a firsthand look Monday at the deteriorating situation in the seven-year-old Afghanistan war, amid preparations in his administration to hand a broad strategy overhaul over to President-elect Barack Obama and to significantly increase the U.S. troop presence.

Bush's surprise stop in Afghanistan, his first in over 2 1/2 years and only the second of his presidency, was accompanied by extraordinary security. It came directly after a five-hour visit to Iraq that also tried the nerves of Bush's Secret Service protectors.

During a press conference in Baghdad, an Iraqi reporter hurled two shoes at Bush. "This is a farewell kiss, you dog!" the protester shouted in Arabic.

Immediately upon his arrival in Afghanistan, Bush was holding a rally with U.S. and foreign troops at this massive U.S.-run base north of the capital of Kabul. The rally was held in the pre-dawn morning hours local time, causing an early wake-up for troops amid frigid temperatures. He was also meeting with Afghan President Hamid Karzai.

If I were Bush - I would have said something like “Yes we are making progress in Iraq. Throwing a shoe at someone, especially a dignatary, is not excusable. However, at least under the government that the Iraqis have established it is also not an offense that would result in his public execution.”

Thanks for the heads-up. I’m glad he went to both countries to show his support for our troops and their missions.

” What’s Obama done this weekend? “

I guarantee that he’s gone to a gym.
But, he’s not working out.
Obama has spent a great portion of every working day
for the past few years “ in the gym.”
By now, he should have arms like Popeye and thighs like Arnold.
Instead, he continues to look like a stick figure.
Most likely Barry goes to escape Michelle and
smoke half a carton of Virginia Slims.
And chat up guys in the shower and locker rooms.

He goes to Afghanistan to visit—in the meantime a TIDAL WAVE of Afghan so called refugees heading west to Europe and points farther west.

How comforting...

I blame MSNBC, Comedy Central...and all the psycho left wing blogs that tore this President down to a comedy act. They disrespected him night after night with no boundaries. The terrorists are waiting out the clock my friends, make no mistake. They are watching closely at the Illinois scandal and our lack of moral integrity. I have but one question about this shoe incident: where the hell were secret service?
