    These are large Canadian imports.
Not the smaller American wolves.

It’s only a matter of time before a human tragedy happens.

If only they would kill more cats.
People want to live out near the wilderness then get flustered to discover the wilderness contains wild creatures.

0.01625% of 2,000,000 cattle in Idaho.
Sounds like the big boys from the Great White North aren't all that good!

This is terrible. Conservationists from across the country should set out into the wilds to investigate these rumors of slaughter that the ranchers and Fish and Game Dept. officials are spreading about this endangered species.

That should keep the wolf packs busy for a bit.

    Looked it UP!
Ranchers get $139,000 for livestock killed by wolves, that was in 2004
While the wolf kills get a lot of attention, Stone noted they amount to a tiny fraction of the sheep and cattle killed by predators each year. In Montana, for example, coyotes killed 17,700 sheep and lambs in 2003, according to the Montana Agriculture Statistics Service, which polls ranchers every year.
Ranchers in that survey blamed wolves for 500 dead sheep and lambs, although just 210 were listed as confirmed or probable wolf kills by the federal government.

Wolves move into an elk rich region and they establish dens. Prey base sustains wolves for 2-3 years ...
After 2 to 3 years, the prey base is reduced 90 percent and the wolves begin to move elsewhere looking for food

The worst beating I ever got as a child was for failing to shoot a coyote.
